No Man’s Land è un intervento permanente site-specific di Yona Friedman con Jean Baptiste Decavèle, nella Contrada Rotacesta di Loreto Aprutino. Si estende per più di due ettari ed è composta da: un enorme arazzo naturale disegnato con una grande quantità di sassi bianchi di fiume, una struttura di 1.000 canne di bambù che rievoca il museo senza pareti di Friedman e un dizionario immaginario inciso dai volontari su oltre 200 alberi di noce.
L’omonima Fondazione No Man’s Land è un modello di rinnovamento etico e sociale, un progetto di sviluppo del territorio attraverso l’arte contemporanea ripetibile in ogni parte del mondo.
Yona Friedman è il Presidente Onorario della Fondazione No Man’s Land. I soci fondatori sono Mario Pieroni, RAM radioartemobile e Zerynthia Associazione per l’Arte Contemporanea ODV. L’installazione è stata realizzata con il supporto della Fondazione Aria sotto la direzione artistica di Cecilia Casorati e di Zerynthia Associazione per l’Arte Contemporanea ODV. Friedman, artista e architetto franco-ungherese, nato nel 1923, è diventato con le sue tesi architettoniche e sociali un riferimento universale.

No Man’s Land is a site-specific permanent installation by Yona Friedman with Jean-Baptiste Decavèle, in Contrada Rotacesta of Loreto Aprutino. Extending over two hectares of countryside, it is composed by a tapestry made out of a huge amount of white river stones, a bamboo structure that recalls Friedman’s museum without walls and an imaginary dictionary by Friedman carved by the volunteers into more than 200 walnut trees.
The homonym No man’s land Foundation is proposed as a model for social and ethical change, a project of land development through contemporary art, repeatable in any place in the world. Yona Friedman is the Honorary President of No Man’s Land Foundation. The founding members are Mario Pieroni, RAM radioartemobile and Zerynthia Association ODV.
The installation that has been realized with the support and collaboration of Zerynthia Association ODV and ARIA Foundation, under the artistic direction of Cecilia Casorati. Friedman, Franco-Hungarian artist and architect, born in 1923, has become, with its architectural and social thesis of the United Nations, an universal referee.
