Quello che oggi è conosciuto come Parco Gaspari, area verde alla fine di via Rocca con alberi secolari, è ciò che rimane dell’antica villa Gaspari, appartenuta a Gaspare Luigi Gaspari, nato nel 1771, ricco possidente del Latisanese, considerato dai contemporanei «uomo di mente elevata, filosofo, magistrato integerrimo, valente agronomo e vero cristiano».
Il parco, che costeggia il fiume Tagliamento, è il luogo ideale per riposarsi sotto le fronde degli imponenti alberi e stare a contatto con la natura; è anche una location ideale per eventi e concerti. Alla fine del parco si trova un monumento a forma di prua, dedicato ai Caduti del Mare.
What is now known as Parco Gaspari, a green area at the end of via Rocca with centuries-old trees, is what remains of the historic villa Gaspari, which belonged to Gaspare Luigi Gaspari. Born in 1771, he was a rich landowner from the Latisana area, considered by his contemporaries to be a “high-minded man, philosopher, upright magistrate, talented agronomist and true Christian.”
The park, which runs along the Tagliamento river, is the ideal place to rest under the branches of the imposing trees and be in contact with nature. It is also an ideal location for events and concerts. At the end of the park there is a monument in the shape of a prow, dedicated to those Lost at Sea.
