Descrizione
La Chiesa di Sant'Antonio di Padova fu fondata nel 1685 insieme al Monastero delle Terziarie Francescane. Verso la metà del Settecento la chiesa venne rimaneggiata e nel 1810 il convento fu soppresso.
Nel coro si trova la pala Sant'Anna, Madonna col Bambino, Triade Agostiniana e Donatore (tardo '500), attribuita alla bottega di Jacopo Tintoretto (1518-1594), con intervento del figlio Domenico (1560-1635). Nella parte superiore del dipinto, Sant'Anna, madre di Maria, la Madonna e il Bambin Gesù, attorniati da otto angioletti, si trovano su u trono di nubi. Nella parte inferiore tre santi - Agostino Vescovo, Antonio Abate e Nicola da Tolentino - venerano l'apparizione. In basso a destra è raffigurato di profilo un patrizio veneto, con accanto uno stemma che riporta gli scudi dei casati veneziani di Vendramin e Moro. Il quadro fu realizzato per volere di Elena Vendramin (+1575), signora di Latisana.
Sull'altare maggiore si può ammirare la pala Sacra famiglia, Sant'Antonio da Padova e Santa Chiara d'Assisi (primo '700) di Mattia Bortoloni (1696-1750), pittore formatosi a Venezia che lavorò anche come aiuto al grande Giambattista Tiepolo. In alto a sinistra la Madonna regge fra le ginocchia il Bambino, che prende in braccio verso verso i due santi francescani; in basso su una nuvola, San Giuseppe volge lo sguardo amorevole verso il Figlio e la Sposa.
The Chiesa di Sant’Antonio di Padova was founded in 1685 together with the Monastery of the Third Order of Saint Francis. The church was remodelled towards the middle of the eighteenth century, and the convent was closed in 1810.
In the choir you can find the altarpiece Sant’Anna, Madonna and Child, Augustine Triad and Benefactor (late 1500s), attributed to the workshop of Jacopo Tintoretto (1518-1594), with a contribution made by his son Domenico (1560-1635). In the upper part of the painting, Saint Anne, mother of Mary, the Madonna and the Baby Jesus are surrounded by eight angels on a throne of clouds. In the lower part, three saints – Augustine of Hippo, Anthony the Abbot and Nicholas of Tolentino – venerate the apparition. At the bottom right, a Venetian patrician is depicted in profile, next to a coat of arms bearing the shields of the Venetian Vendramin and Moro families. The painting was made at the behest of Elena Vendramin (1575), Lady of Latisana.
On the main altar you can admire the altarpiece Holy Family, Sant’Antonio da Padova and Santa Chiara d’Assisi (early 1700s) by Mattia Bortoloni (1696-1750), a painter who trained in Venice and who also worked as an assistant to the great Giambattista Tiepolo. In the upper left, the Madonna holds the infant Jesus between her knees, as he stretches his arm out to the two Franciscan saints; below, on a cloud, St. Joseph casts a loving gaze towards his son and bride.
Die Kirche des Hl. Antonius von Padua wurde 1685 zusammen mit dem Kloster der Franziskaner-Tertiaren gegründet. Gegen Mitte des achtzehnten Jahrhunderts wurde die Kirche umgestaltet. 1810 wurde das Kloster aufgelöst.
Im Chor befindet sich das Altarbild der Hl. Anna, Madonna mit Kind, augustinische Triade und Stifter (Ende 16. Jhd.), das der Werkstatt von Jacopo Tintoretto (1518 - 1594) zugeschrieben wird und unter Mitwirkung seines Sohnes Domenico (1560 - 1635) entstand. Im oberen Teil des Gemäldes sitzen die heilige Anna, die Mutter Marias, die Madonna und das Jesukind, umgeben von acht kleinen Engeln, auf einem Wolkenthron. Im unteren Teil verehren drei Heilige – Bischof Augustinus, Abt Antonius und Nikolaus von Tolentino – die Erscheinung. Unten rechts ist ein venezianischer Patrizier im Profil zu sehen, daneben ein Wappen mit den Schilden der venezianischen Familien Vendramin und Moro. Das Gemälde wurde von Elena Vendramin (+1575), Dame von Latisana, in Auftrag gegeben.
Auf dem Hochaltar kann man das Altarbild mit der Heiligen Familie, dem Heiligen Antonius aus Padua und der Hl. Chiara d’Assisi (frühes 18. Jhd.) von Mattia Bortoloni (1696 - 1750) bewundern, einem in Venedig ausgebildeten Maler, der auch als Assistent des großen Giambattista Tiepolo arbeitet. Oben links hält die Madonna das Kind zwischen ihren Knien und streckt ihren Arm in Richtung der beiden Franziskanerheiligen aus; unten, auf einer Wolke, schaut der heilige Josef liebevoll auf den Sohn und seine Braut.
