Ogni anno nel giorno dell’Assunta si svolge a Garda il Palio delle Contrade, la festa più significativa per la locale comunità di pescatori e tra le più care alla popolazione gardesana. La prima celebrazione risale al settembre 1952, cinquecentenario della Corporazione degli Antichi Originari di Garda, ma il regolamento odierno è del 1998. Nel tratto di lungolago compreso tra il porto ed il municipio, sul far della sera, le gondole piane di nove contrade scendono in acqua, contendendosi il primato cittadino a colpi di remo. Ogni equipaggio è composto da quattro vogatori alla veneta che remano in piedi a remi alternati, secondo lo stile dei pescatori locali, lungo un tratto di 400 metri percorso per tre volte.
Al comando: Barche in acqua!, partono i tre turni di eliminazione fino alla consacrazione della Contrada vincitrice.
Anche le barche utilizzate nella regata del palio, le bisse, sono state realizzate sul modello di quelle adoperate quotidianamente per la pesca sul lago.
La competizione remiera, caratterizzata da contradaioli e vogatori in costume, ha come posta la lignea statua della Madonna Assunta.
Precedono la regata sfilate e spettacoli lungo le strade della cittadina, mentre la giornata si conclude con uno spettacolo pirotecnico sulle rive del lago.
Contrada Rosa presenta i colori verde-nero con il simbolo del lavarello; Antiche Mura giallo-rosso con il pesce persico; Corsetto i colori giallo-nero con il carpione; Pio è azzurro-rosso con l'anguilla; La Losa rosso-nero col luccio; Il Borgo è giallo-verde e ha per simbolo la trota; Porto giallo-azzurro con la sardena; Via Spagna verde-rosso con la tinca e La Piasa blu-azzurro con l'aola.
Programma:
dalle ore 09,30 alle ore 12,30 presso i giardini pubblici davanti al centro Congressi per i più piccoli ci saranno i giochi antichi con il Ludobus.
ore 19:00: in Piazza del Municipio spettacolo degli sbandieratori che inaugureranno il Palio delle Contrade.
ore 19:30:nel centro storico, sfilata degli equipaggi del Palio e a seguire benedizione degli equipaggi presso la Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta.
ore 21:15: nello spazio acqueo antistante il Municipio gara remiera del Palio delle Contrade con gli equipaggi maschili della voga alla veneta.
ore 23:15: Spettacolo pirotecnico sul lungolago.
Every year on the day of the Assumption, the Palio delle Contrade takes place in Garda, the most significant celebration for the local fishing community and one of the dearest to the Gardesana population. The first celebration dates back to September 1952, the five-hundredth anniversary of the Corporation of the Ancient Originators of Garda, but the current regulations are from 1998. In the stretch of the lakefront between the harbor and the town hall, at dusk, the flat gondolas of nine contrade (districts) enter the water, competing for the city title with strokes of their oars. Each crew consists of four Venetian rowers who row standing with alternating strokes, in the style of local fishermen, along a 400-meter stretch completed three times.
At the command: Boats in the water!, the three elimination rounds begin until the crowning of the winning Contrada.
Even the boats used in the palio regatta, called bisse, have been made following the model of those used daily for fishing on the lake.
The rowing competition, characterized by contradaioli and rowers in costume, features as the prize the wooden statue of the Assumption Madonna.
Parades and shows along the streets of the town precede the regatta, while the day concludes with a fireworks display on the shores of the lake.
Contrada Rosa presents green-black colors with the symbol of the lavarello; Antiche Mura yellow-red with the perch; Corsetto in yellow-black with the carp; Pio is blue-red with the eel; La Losa red-black with the pike; Il Borgo is yellow-green and features the trout as its symbol; Porto yellow-blue with the sardine; Via Spagna green-red with the tench and La Piasa blue-light blue with the aola.
Program:
From 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the public gardens in front of the Congress Center, there will be traditional games for the little ones with the Ludobus.
7:00 PM: in Piazza del Municipio a flag-waving show will inaugurate the Palio delle Contrade.
7:30 PM: in the historic center, parade of the Palio crews followed by the blessing of the crews at the Church of Santa Maria Assunta.
9:15 PM: in the water area in front of the Town Hall, rowing race of the Palio delle contrade with male crews rowing in the Venetian style.
11:15 PM: Fireworks display on the lakefront.
Jedes Jahr am Tag der Maria Himmelfahrt findet in Garda das Palio delle Contrade statt, das wichtigste Fest für die lokale Fischergemeinde und eines der beliebtesten Feste der Gardasee-Bevölkerung. Die erste Feier fand im September 1952 statt, zum 500-jährigen Jubiläum der Corporation der Alten Urheber von Garda, aber die heutige Regelung stammt aus dem Jahr 1998. Im Bereich der Uferpromenade zwischen dem Hafen und dem Rathaus, bei Einbruch der Dämmerung, steigen die plattbodigen Gondeln von neun Stadtteilen ins Wasser und kämpfen um den Stadtmeistertitel mit Ruderstößen. Jedes Team besteht aus vier Ruderern im venezianischen Stil, die im Stehen und im Wechselrudern, entsprechend der Tradition der lokalen Fischer, 400 Meter dreimal zurücklegen.
Auf Kommando: Boote ins Wasser!, beginnen die drei Eliminationsrunden bis zur Krönung des siegreichen Stadtteils.Auch die Boote, die im Palio-Rennen verwendet werden, die Bisse, wurden nach dem Modell der täglich zum Fischen im See verwendeten Boote gebaut. Der Ruderwettbewerb, gekennzeichnet durch die Teilnehmer und Ruderer in Kostümen, hat die hölzerne Statue der Maria Himmelfahrt als Preis.Vor dem Rennen gibt es Paraden und Aufführungen in den Straßen des Städtchens, während der Tag mit einem Feuerwerk am Ufer des Sees endet.
Contrada Rosa präsentiert die Farben grün-schwarz mit dem Symbol des Lavarelle; Antiche Mura gelb-rot mit dem Zander; Corsetto die Farben gelb-schwarz mit dem Karpfen; Pio ist blau-rot mit dem Aal; La Losa rot-schwarz mit dem Hecht; Il Borgo ist gelb-grün und hat als Symbol die Forelle; Porto gelb-blau mit der Sardine; Via Spagna grün-rot mit dem Graskarpfen und La Piasa blau-hellblau mit dem Aal.
Programm:
von 09:30 bis 12:30 Uhr im öffentlichen Garten vor dem Kongresszentrum gibt es alte Spiele mit dem Ludobus für die Kleinsten
Um 19:00 Uhr: In der Piazza del Municipio Aufführung der Bannerträger, die das Palio delle Contrade eröffnen.
Um 19:30 Uhr: Im historischen Zentrum, Umzug der Palio-Teams und anschließend Segnung der Teams in der Kirche Santa Maria Assunta.
Um 21:15 Uhr: Im Wasserbereich vor dem Rathaus Ruderwettbewerb des Palio delle Contrade mit den männlichen Teams des venezianischen Ruderns
Um 23:15 Uhr: Feuerwerk an der Uferpromenade.
