Sull’Altopiano di Asiago, l’anziano Giuseppe conduce una vita solitaria, segnata dai silenzi e dai ricordi del passato. L’arrivo improvviso di un viandante infreddolito riapre ferite mai rimarginate e fa emergere un legame inatteso tra i due uomini, nato durante una delle battaglie più cruente della Prima Guerra Mondiale. Attraverso il confronto tra memoria e verità, L’ospite racconta il peso della colpa, il bisogno di redenzione e l’assurdità della guerra, in una storia intima e profondamente umana.

On the Asiago Plateau, the elderly Giuseppe leads a solitary life, marked by silence and memories of the past. The sudden arrival of a frostbitten traveler reopens wounds never healed and brings an unexpected bond between the two men, born during one of the bloodiest battles of World War I. Through the confrontation between memory and truth, The Guest narrates the weight of guilt, the need for redemption, and the absurdity of war, in an intimate and profoundly human story.

Auf dem Hochplateau von Asiago führt der alte Giuseppe ein einsames Leben, geprägt von Stille und Erinnerungen an die Vergangenheit. Die plötzliche Ankunft eines frostigen Wanderers reißt nie verheilte Wunden auf und bringt eine unerwartete Verbindung zwischen den beiden Männern ans Licht, die während einer der blutigsten Schlachten des Ersten Weltkriegs geboren wurde. Durch den Vergleich von Erinnerung und Wahrheit erzählt Der Gast vom Gewicht der Schuld, dem Bedürfnis nach Erlösung und der Absurdität des Krieges, in einer intimen und zutiefst menschlichen Geschichte.
