Un'opera cheanalizza e va oltre le pagine di “Un anno sull’Altipiano” riportando alla luce un Lussu meno noto, immerso nei fronti più aspri della Grande Guerra - dal Carso all’Altopiano, dalla Bainsizza a Caporetto fino al Piave - ma anche nei momenti più intimi e sereni trascorsi a Bassano del Grappa e nel legame profondo con Teresa Nardini. Attraverso documenti inediti e fotografie rare, gli autori con competenza e passione danno voce ai silenzi, ai volti dimenticati e alle scelte morali di un uomo che fu soldato, pensatore, testimone del suo tempo e non di meno uno degli intellettuali e uomini di azione più significativi del Novecento italiano.

A work that analyzes and goes beyond the pages of “Un anno sull’Altipiano” bringing to light a less known Lussu, immersed in the harshest fronts of the Great War - from the Carso to the Altopiano, from Bainsizza to Caporetto and up to the Piave - but also in the more intimate and serene moments spent in Bassano del Grappa and in the deep bond with Teresa Nardini. Through unpublished documents and rare photographs, the authors skillfully and passionately give voice to the silences, the forgotten faces, and the moral choices of a man who was a soldier, thinker, witness of his time and yet one of the most significant intellectuals and men of action of the Italian twentieth century.

Ein Werk, das die Seiten von „Ein Jahr auf dem Hochplateau“ analysiert und über sie hinausgeht, indem es ein weniger bekanntes Lussu ans Licht bringt, das in den härtesten Fronten des Ersten Weltkriegs – vom Karst über das Hochplateau, von der Bainsizza bis Caporetto und bis zum Piave – eingetaucht ist, aber auch in die intimsten und ruhigsten Momente, die in Bassano del Grappa verbracht wurden, sowie in die tiefgehende Verbindung zu Teresa Nardini. Durch unveröffentlichte Dokumente und seltene Fotos geben die Autoren mit Kompetenz und Leidenschaft den Lauten, den vergessenen Gesichtern und den moralischen Entscheidungen eines Mannes, der Soldat, Denker, Zeuge seiner Zeit war und nicht weniger einer der bedeutendsten Intellektuellen und Akteure des italienischen zwanzigsten Jahrhunderts, eine Stimme.
