Tra il 1994 e il 2006, Veneto e Friuli Venezia Giulia furono attraversati da una lunga stagione di terrore e smarrimento. In quegli anni, una serie di ordigni artigianali nascosti apparentemente dietro oggetti di uso comune come penne, giocattoli, tubetti di maionese, ovetti Kinder, candele e altri strumenti innocui si trasformarono improvvisamente in pericolose trappole capaci di ferire persone comuni e innocenti, diffondendo un senso di crescente insicurezza.
Il responsabile di quella lunga serie di attentati dinamitardi non venne mai identificato dagli inquirenti con certezza, alimentando nel tempo un profondo senso collettivo di smarrimento e inquietudine che, a distanza di anni, continua a suscitare perplessità e domande irrisolte.Le indagini, le molteplici spinte investigative, gli errori e le varie ipotesi che allora alimentarono il dibattito pubblico, si intrecciano abilmente con un'ampia riflessione sul cambiamento di un'intera epoca, accompagnando il lettore in un viaggio a ritroso tra gli anni Novanta e i primi Duemila, restituendo l'atmosfera tipica di un'Italia che si trovava al confine estremo tra due mondi opposti: quello delle illusioni del Novecento e quello incerto del nuovo millennio.La provincia del Nord-Est, raccontata spesso come estremo simbolo di efficienza e stabilità, appare attraversata da un senso crescente di fragilità, che presagiva molte delle incertezze contemporanee.
Il titolo stesso assume nel romanzo un valore fortemente simbolico. L'eclissi evocata da Masini non riguarda soltanto il mistero oscuro e criminale di Unabomber, ma rappresenta altresì l'emblema che lentamente cala su un'intera stagione storica.Ecco che il mistero irrisolto diventa metafora di qualcosa di più grande: l'impossibilità di trovare spiegazioni chiare a un cambiamento epocale che coinvolge un numero crescente di persone, territori e identità collettive.L'incontro sarà un'occasione preziosa per approfondire non soltanto uno dei casi di cronaca nera più discussi della cronaca italiana, ma anche valido pretesto per riflettere a fondo sul potere della letteratura nel custodire e reinterpretare il valore della memoria collettiva, capace di coinvolgere coloro che ricordano direttamente quei fatti di cronaca, quanto le nuove generazioni che desiderano comprendere le dinamiche di un periodo cruciale che ha segnato in modo indelebile l'intera collettività
Between 1994 and 2006, Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia were crossed by a long season of terror and disorientation. During those years, a series of homemade explosives hidden behind seemingly common objects such as pens, toys, tubes of mayonnaise, Kinder eggs, candles, and other harmless tools suddenly turned into dangerous traps capable of injuring ordinary and innocent people, spreading a sense of increasing insecurity.
The person responsible for that long series of bomb attacks was never conclusively identified by investigators, fostering over time a deep collective sense of disorientation and unease that, years later, continues to raise perplexities and unresolved questions. The investigations, the multiple investigative pushes, the errors, and the various hypotheses that fueled public debate at that time skillfully intertwine with a broad reflection on the change of an entire era, accompanying the reader on a journey back through the nineties and the early two-thousands, returning the typical atmosphere of an Italy that found itself at the extreme boundary between two opposing worlds: that of the illusions of the twentieth century and the uncertain one of the new millennium. The province of the North-East, often described as the extreme symbol of efficiency and stability, appears to be crossed by an increasing sense of fragility, which foreshadowed many of the contemporary uncertainties.
The title itself takes on a strongly symbolic value in the novel. The eclipse evoked by Masini not only pertains to the dark and criminal mystery of Unabomber, but also represents the emblem that slowly descends upon an entire historical season. Thus, the unresolved mystery becomes a metaphor for something greater: the impossibility of finding clear explanations for an epochal change that involves an increasing number of people, territories, and collective identities. The meeting will be a precious opportunity to delve into not only one of the most discussed cases of black news in Italian history but also a valid pretext to deeply reflect on the power of literature in preserving and reinterpreting the value of collective memory, capable of engaging both those who directly remember those news events and the new generations who wish to understand the dynamics of a crucial period that indelibly marked the entire community.
Von 1994 bis 2006 wurden Venetien und Friaul-Julisch Venetien von einer langen Phase des Terrors und der Verwirrung durchzogen. In diesen Jahren verwandelten sich eine Reihe von in Alltagsgegenständen wie Stiften, Spielzeug, Mayonnaise-Tuben, Kinderüberraschungseiern, Kerzen und anderen harmlosen Werkzeugen versteckte Sprengsätze plötzlich in gefährliche Fallen, die gewöhnliche und unschuldige Menschen verletzen konnten und ein wachsendes Gefühl der Unsicherheit verbreiteten.
Der Verantwortliche für diese lange Reihe von Bombenanschlägen wurde von den Ermittlern nie mit Gewissheit identifiziert, was im Laufe der Zeit ein tiefes kollektives Gefühl von Verwirrung und Unruhe nährte, das, Jahre später, weiterhin Fragen und Unklarheiten aufwirft. Die Ermittlungen, die zahlreichen ermittlerischen Anstöße, die Fehler und die verschiedenen Hypothesen, die damals die öffentliche Debatte befeuerten, verweben sich geschickt mit einer umfassenden Reflexion über den Wandel einer gesamten Epoche und begleiten den Leser auf eine Reise zurück in die Neunziger und die frühen 2000er Jahre, wobei die typische Atmosphäre eines Italiens wiedergegeben wird, das sich an der extremen Grenze zwischen zwei entgegengesetzten Welten befindet: der Welt der Illusionen des 20. Jahrhunderts und der ungewissen Welt des neuen Jahrtausends. Die Provinz im Nordosten, oft als extremes Symbol für Effizienz und Stabilität dargestellt, erscheint von einem wachsenden Gefühl der Zerbrechlichkeit durchzogen, das viele der zeitgenössischen Unsicherheiten vorwegnahm.
Der Titel selbst hat im Roman eine stark symbolische Bedeutung. Die von Masini beschworene Eklipse betrifft nicht nur das dunkle und kriminelle Geheimnis von Unabomber, sondern stellt auch das Emblem dar, das langsam über eine ganze historische Epoche sinkt.
