Il Giacomo Ganzerli Trio è il progetto jazz dell'omonimo batterista italiano, nato nel 1997 a Modena. Questa formazione “bassless” combina batteria, sassofono e chitarra con elettronica dal vivo e drum machine, fondendo elementi elettronici con paesaggi sonori melodici e improvvisazione libera. Il trio, composto da Daniele Nasi al sassofono tenore e Michele Bonifati alla chitarra, esplora il jazz moderno arricchendolo con ricercate trame elettroniche.
“The Art of Leaving Blankness”, album di debutto uscito il 18 gennaio 2026 per l'etichetta nusica.org, è un album di jazz moderno che fonde momenti di improvvisazione libera con paesaggi sonori elettronici. I brani di questo album sono stati tutti composti da Ganzerli negli ultimi anni:
sono composizioni melodiche ed essenziali con una forte identità. Ogni pezzo nasce da un'esperienza reale: un libro, un luogo significativo, una persona, un ricordo. Il titolo dell'album è stato ispirato dall’ultimo viaggio in Cina del trio, quando si sono esibiti a Shanghai nel marzo 2025. Il leader: “Durante il soggiorno, mi sono imbattuto in una parola cinese che si pronuncia “Liubai”. È un termine che può essere applicato a molti campi, dalla pittura alla musica, e persino alla vita quotidiana. Rappresenta l'importanza di lasciare spazio agli altri, di ascoltare il silenzio, di permettere al vuoto di esistere e di comunicare, di lasciare che lo spazio bianco su una tela diventi neve.” Questo concetto è centrale nello spirito di queste composizioni, che sono tutte guidate dalla stessa idea di fondo: “L'arte di lasciare il vuoto” ovvero “The Art of Leaving Blankness”

The album title was inspired by the trio's last trip to China, when they performed in Shanghai in March 2025. The leader states: “During the stay, I came across a Chinese word pronounced ‘Liubai’. It’s a term that can be applied to many fields, from painting to music, and even to everyday life. It represents the importance of leaving space for others, listening to silence, allowing emptiness to exist and communicate, letting the white space on a canvas become snow.” This concept is central to the spirit of these compositions, all driven by the same underlying idea: “The art of leaving blankness” or “The Art of Leaving Blankness”

Er repräsentiert die Bedeutung, Raum für andere zu lassen, das Schweigen zu hören, das Nichts existieren und kommunizieren zu lassen, und den weißen Raum auf einer Leinwand zu Schnee werden zu lassen.” Dieses Konzept ist zentral im Geist dieser Kompositionen, die alle von derselben Grundidee geleitet werden: “Die Kunst, das Nichts zu lassen” oder “The Art of Leaving Blankness”
