La Festa della Quarta d'agosto rappresenta uno degli eventi storici, religiosi e popolari più significativi del Comune di Costermano sul Garda e quest'anno inaugura la cinquantaduesima edizione. Organizzata dalla Parrocchia di Sant'Antonio Abate, con il prezioso contributo di una numeroso gruppo di volontari, la manifestazione si svolge annualmente nel mese di agosto nella piazza centrale, cuore della vita comunitaria del paese, richiamando residenti, visitatori e turisti provenienti, non solo dall'area gardesana, ma anche dall'intera provincia di Verona e dalle regioni limitrofe.
Le origini della manifestazione affondano nella storia della comunità e risalgono alla seconda metà del XVII Secolo, quando gli abitanti del paese organizzarono una solenne processione votiva quale ringraziamento al Cuore immacolato di Maria per aver preservato il paese dalla terribile epidemia di peste che colpì gran parte dell'Italia settentrionale. Questa ricorrenza religiosa nel corso dei secoli si è trasformata in una festa popolare senza mai perdere il proprio significato originale, per arrivare ad essere una manifestazione articolata con momenti di spiritualità, iniziative culturali, intrattenimento musicale, valorizzazione delle tradizioni gastronomiche locali e attività dedicate alle famiglie.
Elemento simbolo della festa della Quarta d'Agosto è senza dubbio la sua proposta gastronomica, e la protagonista assoluta ed indiscussa è la celebre "anara col pien" preparata secondo l'antica ricetta tradizionale grazie alla collaborazione dei volontari e delle persone che custodiscono le conoscenze della cucina locale. Non mancheranno comunque anche altri piatti tipici veronesi, accompagnati dagli ottimi vini del territorio con dolci e prelibatezze varie.

The Festa della Quarta d'agosto represents one of the most significant historical, religious, and popular events in the municipality of Costermano sul Garda, and this year marks the fifty-second edition. Organized by the Parish of Sant'Antonio Abate, with the valuable contribution of a large group of volunteers, the event takes place annually in August in the central square, the heart of the community life of the town, attracting residents, visitors, and tourists not only from the Garda area but also from the entire province of Verona and neighboring regions.
The origins of the event are rooted in the history of the community and date back to the second half of the 17th century when the townspeople organized a solemn votive procession to thank the Immaculate Heart of Mary for preserving the town from the terrible plague epidemic that struck much of northern Italy. This religious anniversary has transformed over the centuries into a popular festival without ever losing its original meaning, evolving into an event featuring moments of spirituality, cultural initiatives, musical entertainment, promotion of local gastronomic traditions, and activities dedicated to families.
A symbol of the Festa della Quarta d'Agosto is undoubtedly its gastronomic offerings, with the absolute and undisputed star being the famous "anara col pien" prepared according to the ancient traditional recipe thanks to the collaboration of volunteers and those who preserve the knowledge of local cuisine. There will also be other typical Veronese dishes, accompanied by excellent local wines and a variety of desserts and delicacies.

Das Fest der Vierten August ist eines der bedeutendsten historischen, religiösen und volkstümlichen Ereignisse der Gemeinde Costermano am Gardasee und feiert in diesem Jahr seine zweiundfünfzigste Auflage. Organisiert von der Pfarrei Sant'Antonio Abate, mit dem wertvollen Beitrag einer zahlreichen Gruppe von Freiwilligen, findet die Veranstaltung jährlich im Monat August auf dem zentralen Platz, dem Herzen des Gemeinschaftslebens des Dorfes, statt und zieht Bewohner, Besucher und Touristen an, die nicht nur aus dem Gardaseeraum, sondern auch aus der gesamten Provinz Verona und den angrenzenden Regionen kommen.
Die Ursprünge der Veranstaltung liegen in der Geschichte der Gemeinschaft und reichen in die zweite Hälfte des 17. Jahrhunderts zurück, als die Dorfbewohner eine feierliche Weiheprozession als Dank an das unbefleckte Herz Mariens organisierten, weil sie das Dorf vor der schrecklichen Pestepidemie bewahrt hatte, die einen Großteil Norditaliens traf. Dieser religiöse Anlass hat sich im Laufe der Jahrhunderte zu einem Volksfest entwickelt, ohne dabei seine ursprüngliche Bedeutung zu verlieren, und ist zu einer vielfältigen Veranstaltung geworden, die Momente der Spiritualität, kulturelle Initiativen, musikalische Unterhaltung, die Wertschätzung der lokalen Gastronomietraditionen und Aktivitäten für Familien umfasst.
