Un viaggio nel cuore della storia artistica delle Dolomiti, alla scoperta di un’opera tanto preziosa quanto poco conosciuta.
Lunedì 31 agosto alle 17:30, la Biblioteca Civica di Cortina d’Ampezzo ospita un nuovo appuntamento degli Incontri d’Arte con la Professoressa Barbara Fabjan, dedicato alla pala della chiesa di San Nicolò a Ospitale.
Una tavola del Cinquecento, di scuola tedesca, con Maria, San Nicolò e San Biagio, che racconta molto più di una scena sacra: racconta un territorio di confine, gli scambi culturali e le rotte percorse per secoli da mercanti, pellegrini e viandanti lungo l’antica via d’Alemagna. La chiesa di Ospitale, sorta nel 1226 proprio a servizio di questi viaggiatori, custodisce così una pagina autentica della storia alpina.
Attraverso lo sguardo di una storica dell’arte di grande esperienza, l’incontro offrirà l’occasione di riscoprire dettagli, significati e legami sorprendenti di un’opera che attraversa i secoli e restituisce voce alla Cortina di un tempo.

A journey into the heart of the artistic history of the Dolomites, discovering a work that is as precious as it is little known.
On Monday August 31 at 5:30 p.m., the Civic Library of Cortina d'Ampezzo hosts a new appointment of the Art Meetings with Professor Barbara Fabjan, dedicated to the altarpiece of the church of San Nicolò in Ospitale.
A panel from the 1500s, of German school, featuring Mary, Saint Nicholas, and Saint Blaise, which tells much more than a sacred scene: it tells of a border territory, the cultural exchanges and the routes traveled for centuries by merchants, pilgrims, and wanderers along the ancient road of Alemagna. The church of Ospitale, founded in 1226 precisely to serve these travelers, thus preserves an authentic page of Alpine history.
Through the lens of a highly experienced art historian, the meeting will provide the opportunity to rediscover details, meanings, and surprising connections of a work that spans the centuries and gives voice to the Cortina of the past.

Eine Reise ins Herz der künstlerischen Geschichte der Dolomiten, auf der Suche nach einem Werk, das so kostbar wie wenig bekannt ist.
Montag 31. August um 17:30 Uhr, die Stadtbibliothek von Cortina d’Ampezzo ist Gastgeber eines neuen Termins der Kunstgespräche mit der Professorin Barbara Fabjan, die dem Altarbild der Kirche San Nicolò in Ospitale gewidmet sind.
Ein Tafelbild aus dem 16. Jahrhundert, aus deutscher Schule, mit Maria, San Nicolò und San Biagio, das weit mehr erzählt als eine heilige Szene: es erzählt von einem Grenzgebiet, den kulturellen Austausch und den Routen, die Jahrhunderte lang von Händlern, Pilgern und Reisenden entlang der alten Via d’Alemagna zurückgelegt wurden. Die Kirche von Ospitale, die 1226 zu Gunsten dieser Reisenden erbaut wurde, bewahrt somit eine authentische Seite der alpinen Geschichte.
Durch die Augen einer erfahrenen Kunsthistorikerin wird die Veranstaltung die Gelegenheit bieten, Details, Bedeutungen und überraschende Verbindungen eines Werks zu entdecken, das Jahrhunderte überdauert hat und der Cortina von einst eine Stimme zurückgibt.
