La collaborazione con il Festival Organi storici del Cadore, come da tradizione, porta a Cortina d’Ampezzo alcuni tra gli organisti più rinomati a livello internazionale.
Per questa stagione sarà ospite il pluri acclamato organista francese: Thierry Escaich, virtuoso e creativo, celebre per la sua straordinaria capacità di improvvisazione
Il concerto si apre con il Corale–Improvvisazione su “Victimae Paschali” di Charles Tournemire, nella raffinata trascrizione di Maurice Duruflé. Questo brano unisce il canto gregoriano pasquale a una scrittura libera e mistica, tipica dello stile di Tournemire: un dialogo tra tradizione liturgica e improvvisazione.
Segue Thierry Escaich con i Cinque Versetti su “Victimae Paschali” (1992), che riprendono lo stesso tema gregoriano ma con un linguaggio contemporaneo. I versetti alternano momenti meditativi e slanci virtuosistici, mostrando la capacità dell’autore di rinnovare la tradizione organistica francese.
Con Naïades di Louis Vierne (dalla Pièces de fantaisie), l’atmosfera cambia: il brano evoca figure acquatiche mitologiche attraverso sonorità leggere, fluide e scintillanti, quasi impressionistiche.
Il Corale n. 2 di César Franck rappresenta uno dei vertici del repertorio organistico romantico: una grande architettura musicale che alterna introspezione, tensione drammatica e un finale luminoso e solenne.
La celebre Toccata (dalla Suite op. 5) di Maurice Duruflé porta energia e brillantezza, con ritmi incisivi e un virtuosismo travolgente che mette in risalto tutte le potenzialità timbriche dell’organo.
Il concerto si conclude con un’Improvvisazione su un tema dato di Thierry Escaich: un momento unico e irripetibile in cui l’interprete crea in tempo reale un trittico musicale, dimostrando una delle tradizioni più affascinanti della scuola organistica francese.

The collaboration with the Historical Organs Festival of Cadore, as per tradition, brings to Cortina d’Ampezzo some of the most renowned organists at an international level.
For this season the acclaimed French organist will be a guest: Thierry Escaich, a virtuoso and creative, famous for his extraordinary improvisational skills.
The concert opens with the Chorale–Improvisation on “Victimae Paschali” by Charles Tournemire, in the refined transcription by Maurice Duruflé. This piece combines the Easter Gregorian chant with a free and mystical writing, typical of Tournemire's style: a dialogue between liturgical tradition and improvisation.
Next, Thierry Escaich will perform the Five Versets on “Victimae Paschali” (1992), which take up the same Gregorian theme but with a contemporary language. The verses alternate between meditative moments and virtuosic bursts, demonstrating the author’s ability to renew the French organ tradition.
With Naïades by Louis Vierne (from the Pièces de fantaisie), the atmosphere changes: the piece evokes mythical aquatic figures through light, fluid, and sparkling sounds, almost impressionistic.
The Chorale No. 2 by César Franck represents one of the peaks of the Romantic organ repertoire: a grand musical architecture that alternates introspection, dramatic tension, and a bright, solemn finale.
The famous Toccata (from the Suite op. 5) by Maurice Duruflé brings energy and brilliance, with incisive rhythms and overwhelming virtuosity that highlights all the timbral potential of the organ.
The concert concludes with an Improvisation on a given theme by Thierry Escaich: a unique and unrepeatable moment in which the performer creates a musical triptych in real time, showcasing one of the most fascinating traditions of the French organ school.

In dieser Saison wird der mehrfach ausgezeichnete französische Organist:Thierry Escaich, Virtuose und Kreative, berühmt für seine außergewöhnliche Improvisationsfähigkeit, zu Gast sein.
Das Konzert beginnt mit der Choral–Improvisation über “Victimae Paschali” von Charles Tournemire, in der raffinierten Transkription von Maurice Duruflé. Dieses Stück verbindet den gregorianischen Oster-Gesang mit einer freien und mystischen Schreibweise, die für den Stil von Tournemire charakteristisch ist: ein Dialog zwischen liturgischer Tradition und Improvisation.
Es folgt Thierry Escaich mit den Fünf Versetten über “Victimae Paschali” (1992), die dasselbe gregorianische Thema aufgreifen, aber mit zeitgenössischer Sprache. Die Versetten wechseln zwischen meditativen Momenten und virtuosen Ausbrüchen und zeigen die Fähigkeit des Komponisten, die französische Orgelttradition zu erneuern.
