Un appuntamento imperdibile a Cortina d’Ampezzo con uno dei più grandi organisti contemporanei: Thierry Escaich, virtuoso francese acclamato a livello internazionale, celebre per la sua straordinaria capacità di improvvisazione.
Nella suggestiva cornice della Basilica Minore dei SS. Filippo e Giacomo, il concerto propone un percorso musicale che intreccia tradizione e modernità. Dal Corale–Improvvisazione su Victimae Paschali di Charles Tournemire, nella raffinata trascrizione di Maurice Duruflé, fino ai Cinque Versetti dello stesso Escaich, che reinterpretano il canto gregoriano in chiave contemporanea.
Atmosfere evocative prendono vita con Naïades di Louis Vierne, mentre il Corale n. 2 di César Franck rappresenta uno dei vertici del repertorio romantico. La celebre Toccata di Duruflé chiude il programma scritto con energia e brillantezza.
Gran finale con un’improvvisazione su tema dato: un momento unico e irripetibile in cui Escaich crea musica dal vivo, trasformando l’organo in pura emozione.

In the evocative setting of the Basilica Minore dei SS. Filippo e Giacomo, the concert offers a musical journey that intertwines tradition and modernity. From the Chorale–Improvisation on Victimae Paschali by Charles Tournemire, in the refined transcription by Maurice Duruflé, to the Five Verses by Escaich himself, which reinterpret Gregorian chant in a contemporary key.
Evocative atmospheres come to life with Naïades by Louis Vierne, while César Franck's Chorale No. 2 stands as one of the peaks of the romantic repertoire. The famous Toccata by Duruflé concludes the program with energy and brilliance.
