A Maskeropolis la maschera non è più finzione: è diventata un sistema. Ogni gesto ha un ruolo, ogni parola una parte da interpretare, ogni identità una costruzione da difendere. In questa città sospesa tra realtà e rappresentazione arriva Gregorio Damian, giovane studente di filosofia deciso a comprendere cosa si nasconda dietro il grande teatro delle apparenze.
Il suo viaggio diventa così un confronto con il potere seducente dell’immagine, con l’ipocrisia e con il bisogno, sempre più urgente, di essere autentici. Attorno a lui, personaggi che sembrano usciti da una commedia contemporanea: aristocratici senza nobiltà, ribelli ambigui, professionisti della menzogna e figure impossibili da incasellare.
Maskeropolis, opera di Lorenzo Sassoli, è una parabola lucida e corrosiva sul nostro tempo: una riflessione sull’identità, sulla manipolazione della narrazione e sul confine sempre più sottile tra ciò che siamo e ciò che scegliamo di mostrare.
A raccontarla, insieme all’autore, sarà Madelyn Renée, soprano di fama internazionale, protagonista sui palcoscenici della Metropolitan Opera, della Scala, della Staatsoper di Vienna e dell’Opéra di Parigi, oltre che interprete al fianco di Luciano Pavarotti.
Un incontro tra letteratura, musica e pensiero, per guardarci allo specchio e chiederci: quale maschera indossiamo ogni giorno? E cosa accadrebbe se decidessimo, finalmente, di toglierla?

In Maskeropolis, the mask is no longer a fabrication: it has become a system. Every gesture has a role, every word a part to interpret, every identity a construction to defend. In this city suspended between reality and representation arrives Gregorio Damian, a young philosophy student determined to understand what lies behind the great theater of appearances.
His journey thus becomes a confrontation with the seductive power of the image, with hypocrisy, and with the increasingly urgent need to be authentic. Around him, characters that seem to have come out of a contemporary comedy: aristocrats without nobility, ambiguous rebels, professionals of deceit, and figures impossible to categorize.
Maskeropolis, a work by Lorenzo Sassoli, is a clear and corrosive parable about our time: a reflection on identity, on the manipulation of narrative, and on the ever-thinning line between who we are and what we choose to show.
To tell it, together with the author, will be Madelyn Renée, an internationally renowned soprano, a star on the stages of the Metropolitan Opera, La Scala, the Vienna Staatsoper, and the Opéra de Paris, as well as a performer alongside Luciano Pavarotti.

In Maskeropolis ist die Maske keine Fiktion mehr: Sie ist ein System. Jede Geste hat eine Rolle, jedes Wort einen Teil, den es zu interpretieren gilt, jede Identität ist ein Konstrukt, das es zu verteidigen gilt. In dieser Stadt, die zwischen Realität und Darstellung schwebt, kommt Gregorio Damian, ein junger Philosophiestudent, der entschlossen ist zu verstehen, was sich hinter dem großen Theater der Erscheinungen verbirgt.
Seine Reise wird so zu einem Vergleich mit der verführerischen Macht des Bildes, mit der Heuchelei und mit dem immer dringender werdenden Bedürfnis, authentisch zu sein. Um ihn herum, Charaktere, die wie aus einer zeitgenössischen Komödie erscheinen: Aristokraten ohne Adel, ambivalente Rebellen, Profis der Lüge und Figuren, die sich unmöglich einordnen lassen.
