Lorenzo Sassoli de Bianchi ci accompagna nella sua Bologna, riscoprendone i luoghi che hanno segnato la sua formazione. Ne emerge una connessione sentimentale con la città, costruita nel tempo anche attraverso un impegno diffuso nel suo tessuto culturale e civile — dalla Cineteca di Bologna al Bologna Festival, fino al Centro San Domenico — che restituisce un rapporto vivo con i luoghi e la loro memoria.

Lorenzo Sassoli de Bianchi è neurologo, imprenditore e scrittore. Presidente di Valsoia, guida la Fondazione ICA Milano e Auditel. Ha lavorato presso l’Istituto di Neurologia dell’Università di Bologna occupandosi di disturbi del sonno. Ha presieduto la Galleria d’Arte Moderna di Bologna, il MAMbo e l’Istituzione Bologna Musei. Autore di saggi sull’arte contemporanea e di romanzi per Sperling & Kupfer, tra cui La luna rossa, La luna bianca ed Evangelina, è Cavaliere del Lavoro.
Lorenzo Capellini è fotografo e autore. Inizia a Londra nel 1958 e dal 1959 lavora per “Il Mondo” di Mario Pannunzio. Nel 1974 diventa fotografo ufficiale della Biennale di Venezia. Realizza oltre 250 mostre nel mondo (Centre Pompidou, New York University, Palazzo Reale) e pubblica più di ottanta libri. Tra questi, la collana sui luoghi con grandi scrittori, da L’Africa di Moravia a Capri e Napoli con Raffaele La Capria. Nel 2022 il suo archivio entra nella Fondazione Biennale di Venezia.

Lorenzo Sassoli de Bianchi takes us through his Bologna, rediscovering the places that have marked his upbringing. A sentimental connection with the city emerges, built over time through a widespread commitment to its cultural and civic fabric — from the Cineteca di Bologna to the Bologna Festival, to the San Domenico Center — which restores a lively relationship with the places and their memory.
Accompanying the text are images by Lorenzo Capellini, a renowned international photographer.
Lorenzo Sassoli de Bianchi is a neurologist, entrepreneur, and writer. President of Valsoia, he leads the ICA Foundation in Milan and Auditel. He has worked at the Neurology Institute of the University of Bologna, focusing on sleep disorders. He has presided over the Bologna Modern Art Gallery, MAMbo, and the Bologna Museums Institution. He is the author of essays on contemporary art and novels for Sperling & Kupfer, including La luna rossa, La luna bianca and Evangelina, and he is a Knight of Labour.
Lorenzo Capellini is a photographer and author. He started his career in London in 1958 and from 1959 worked for “Il Mondo” by Mario Pannunzio. In 1974, he became the official photographer of the Venice Biennale. He has held over 250 exhibitions worldwide (Centre Pompidou, New York University, Palazzo Reale) and published more than eighty books. Among them is a series on places with great writers, from Moravia's Africa to Capri and Naples with Raffaele La Capria. In 2022, his archive entered the Biennale Foundation of Venice.

Lorenzo Sassoli de Bianchi begleitet uns in sein Bologna und entdeckt die Orte wieder, die seine Ausbildung geprägt haben. Dabei entsteht eine emotionale Verbindung zur Stadt, die sich im Laufe der Zeit auch durch ein weit verbreitetes Engagement in ihrem kulturellen und zivilen Gefüge – von der Cineteca di Bologna bis zum Bologna Festival und zum Centro San Domenico – aufgebaut hat, was eine lebendige Beziehung zu den Orten und ihrer Erinnerung zurückgibt.
