Chioggia vanta un’antica tradizione legata alla pesca, attività fondamentale per l’economia locale.
Il Mercato ittico al minuto, situato tra Piazza del Popolo e canal Vena, accanto a Palazzo Granaio, ospita circa trenta postazioni gestite dai pescivendoli locali, detti “mògnoli”.
Sul lato sud, proprio all’ingresso della pescheria, si trova un bel portale istoriato: il Portale a Prisca di Amleto Sartori (1940), donato nel 1946 da Alfredo Bordin.
Nelle formelle si narra la storia di Prisca, la bambina rappresentata al centro dell'architrave, per la quale si immagina una vita fatta di luce, festa, musica e gioia. Attraverso il mutare delle maschere di varie epoche, si celebra la sacralità dell’umano.
Il pesce proviene dal mercato all’ingrosso e viene scaricato all’alba dai pescherecci. Tra i prodotti più richiesti: seppie, calamari, gamberi, polipi e mitili. Il mercato, rinnovato nel 2002, è moderno, igienico e apprezzato da residenti e turisti
Chioggia boasts an ancient tradition linked to fishing, a fundamental activity for the local economy.
The Fish Market, located between Piazza del Popolo and Canal Vena, next to Palazzo Granaio, hosts about thirty stalls run by local fishmongers, called “mògnoli.”
On the south side, right at the entrance of the fish market, there is a beautiful decorated portal: the Portal of Prisca by Amleto Sartori (1940), donated in 1946 by Alfredo Bordin.
In the panels, the story of Prisca is narrated, the girl represented at the center of the architrave, for whom a life filled with light, celebration, music, and joy is imagined. Through the changing masks of various eras, the sacredness of the human experience is celebrated.
The fish comes from the wholesale market and is unloaded at dawn by fishing boats. Among the most requested products are: cuttlefish, squid, shrimp, octopuses, and shellfish. The market, renovated in 2002, is modern, hygienic, and appreciated by both residents and tourists.
Chioggia hat eine alte Tradition, die mit dem Fischfang verbunden ist, einer grundlegenden Aktivität für die lokale Wirtschaft.
Der Fischmarkt, gelegen zwischen der Piazza del Popolo und dem Kanal Vena, neben dem Palazzo Granaio, beherbergt etwa dreißig Stände, die von den lokalen Fischhändlern, den sogenannten "mògnoli", betrieben werden.
Auf der Südseite, direkt am Eingang der Fischbörse, befindet sich ein schöner geschmückter Portal: das Portal zu Prisca von Amleto Sartori (1940), das 1946 von Alfredo Bordin gespendet wurde.
In den Reliefs wird die Geschichte von Prisca erzählt, dem Mädchen, das in der Mitte des Türsturzes dargestellt ist, für das man sich ein Leben voller Licht, Festlichkeiten, Musik und Freude vorstellt. Durch den Wandel der Masken aus verschiedenen Epochen wird die Heiligkeit des Menschlichen gefeiert.
Der Fisch stammt vom Großmarkt und wird bei Sonnenaufgang von den Fischkuttern entladen. Zu den gefragtesten Produkten gehören: Tintenfische, Calamari, Garnelen, Oktopusse und Schalenfrüchte. Der Markt, der 2002 renoviert wurde, ist modern, hygienisch und wird von Einheimischen und Touristen geschätzt.
