Ivan Barioli, conosciuto artisticamente come Artie 5ive, nasce a Milano il 28 agosto 2000 in un contesto familiare che unisce culture diverse: la madre è originaria della Sierra Leone, mentre il padre è italiano. I due si incontrano proprio nel Paese africano negli anni Novanta, dove il padre lavorava per una ONG, portando così nella vita dell’artista un background ricco di influenze e prospettive.
Le prime pubblicazioni a nome Artie 5ive arrivano nella prima metà del 2020, tutte realizzate in modo indipendente, segno di una forte identità artistica fin dagli inizi. Si fa notare sia come ospite, ad esempio nel brano “Five Stars” di Sexymoneyg, sia con i suoi singoli come “Red Bandana”, primo videoclip pubblicato su YouTube, “Calabasas” e “Finché siamo sbronzi”.
Il 2021 si rivela un anno di intensa attività, tra collaborazioni e nuove uscite come “Così Parlò Artie 5ive”, titolo che richiama in modo ironico e diretto Nietzsche, mostrando anche una certa attenzione agli elementi culturali e simbolici. Tuttavia, è nel 2022 che avviene la vera svolta artistica: con brani come “Anticorpi” e “Murder Dance”, realizzati insieme a Ddusi, Artie 5ive consolida uno stile distintivo che fonde il gangsta rap con le sonorità della drill contemporanea. A emergere non è solo la componente musicale, ma anche quella visiva, sempre più curata e coerente con l’immaginario dell’artista, contribuendo a definirne l’identità nel panorama urban italiano.
Ivan Barioli, known artistically as Artie 5ive, was born in Milan on August 28, 2000, in a family context that brings together different cultures: his mother is originally from Sierra Leone, while his father is Italian. The two met in Africa in the 1990s, where the father worked for an NGO, thus bringing a rich background of influences and perspectives into the artist's life.
The first releases under the name Artie 5ive arrived in the first half of 2020, all produced independently, a sign of a strong artistic identity from the very beginning. He gained attention both as a guest, for example in the track “Five Stars” by Sexymoneyg, and with his singles such as “Red Bandana,” the first music video released on YouTube, “Calabasas,” and “Finché siamo sbronzi.”
2021 proved to be a year of intense activity, with collaborations and new releases such as “Così Parlò Artie 5ive,” a title that ironically and directly references Nietzsche, also showing an awareness of cultural and symbolic elements. However, it is in 2022 that the real artistic turning point occurs: with tracks like “Anticorpi” and “Murder Dance,” created together with Ddusi, Artie 5ive consolidates a distinctive style that merges gangsta rap with the sounds of contemporary drill. What emerges is not only the musical component but also the visual one, increasingly refined and coherent with the artist’s imagery, helping to define his identity in the Italian urban scene.

August 2000 in Mailand geboren, in einem familiären Umfeld, das verschiedene Kulturen vereint: die Mutter stammt aus Sierra Leone, während der Vater Italiener ist. Die beiden treffen sich in den neunziger Jahren im afrikanischen Land, wo der Vater für eine NGO arbeitete, und bringen so einen reichen Hintergrund an Einflüssen und Perspektiven in das Leben des Künstlers.
Die ersten Veröffentlichungen unter dem Namen Artie 5ive erscheinen in der ersten Hälfte des Jahres 2020, alle unabhängig produziert, was auf eine starke künstlerische Identität von Anfang an hinweist.
