L’inaugurazione di Lagoon Nativity segna l’avvio ufficiale del grande presepe lagunare ideato da Francesco Orazio e realizzato dal Comune di Cavallino Treporti. L’opera, visitabile ogni giorno fino a fine gennaio, si sviluppa lungo gli otto chilometri della pista ciclopedonale a sbalzo di via Pordelio, valorizzando un tracciato che attraversa uno dei paesaggi più riconoscibili della nostra area. Le oltre quattrocento sagome in compensato marino sono collocate a pochi metri dall’acqua e formano un percorso continuo, in cui le figure sembrano dialogare con la laguna grazie ai riflessi e ai cambiamenti della luce nelle diverse ore del giorno.
Lagoon Nativity è pensato come un racconto visivo che unisce tradizione e interpretazione contemporanea. Le scene sono costruite con linee essenziali, ma sufficienti a definire volti, gesti e ambienti, lasciando spazio all’immaginazione di chi percorre la pista. La scelta del compensato marino rispetta la natura del luogo e richiama una lunga pratica artigianale legata alla lavorazione del legno nelle zone affacciate sull’acqua.
L’iniziativa fa parte del progetto l’Arte del Presepe, che invita a scoprire anche i presepi realizzati nelle abitazioni del territorio. Alcune famiglie aprono i cancelli per mostrare lavori che preparano durante le settimane precedenti, spesso creati con materiali semplici e idee tramandate nel tempo. Questa rete di allestimenti domestici completa il significato di Lagoon Nativity, ampliando la prospettiva dalle rive della laguna agli spazi privati che custodiscono tradizioni molto radicate.
The inauguration of Lagoon Nativity marks the official start of the large lagoon nativity scene conceived by Francesco Orazio and created by the Municipality of Cavallino Treporti. The installation, open for visits every day until the end of January, extends along the eight kilometers of the pedestrian and cycling path overlooking via Pordelio, enhancing a route that crosses one of the most recognizable landscapes of our area. The over four hundred shapes made from marine plywood are placed just a few meters from the water and form a continuous pathway, where the figures seem to interact with the lagoon thanks to the reflections and changes in light at different times of the day.
Lagoon Nativity is designed as a visual narrative that combines tradition and contemporary interpretation. The scenes are constructed with essential lines, but sufficient to define faces, gestures, and environments, leaving room for the imagination of those walking along the path. The choice of marine plywood respects the nature of the place and recalls a long-standing artisanal practice related to woodworking in areas facing the water.
The initiative is part of the project The Art of the Nativity, which invites people to discover the nativity scenes created in the homes of the area. Some families open their gates to showcase works they prepare during the preceding weeks, often made with simple materials and ideas passed down through time. This network of domestic displays completes the meaning of Lagoon Nativity, broadening the perspective from the shores of the lagoon to the private spaces that uphold deeply rooted traditions.
Die Eröffnung von Lagoon Nativity markiert den offiziellen Beginn des großen Lagunenkrippe, der von Francesco Orazio entworfen und von der Gemeinde Cavallino Treporti realisiert wurde. Das Werk, täglich bis Ende Januar zu besichtigen, erstreckt sich entlang der acht Kilometer langen Rad- und Fußgängerpromenade von Via Pordelio und wertschätzt einen Weg, der durch eine der prägnantesten Landschaften unserer Region führt. Die über vierhundert Figuren aus marine-verleimtem Holz befinden sich nur wenige Meter vom Wasser entfernt und bilden einen kontinuierlichen Pfad, in dem die Figuren dank der Reflexionen und Veränderungen des Lichtes zu verschiedenen Tageszeiten mit der Lagune zu interagieren scheinen.
Lagoon Nativity ist als visuelle Erzählung konzipiert, die Tradition mit zeitgenössischer Interpretation verbindet. Die Szenen sind aus einfachen Linien aufgebaut, die jedoch ausreichen, um Gesichter, Gesten und Umgebungen zu definieren und Platz für die Fantasie derjenigen zu lassen, die den Weg entlang gehen. Die Wahl des marineverleimten Holzes respektiert die Natur des Ortes und ruft eine lange handwerkliche Tradition in Erinnerung, die mit der Holzverarbeitung in den wassergelegenen Gebieten verbunden ist.
Die Initiative ist Teil des Projekts l'Arte del Presepe, das dazu einlädt, auch die Krippen zu entdecken, die in den Häusern der Umgebung geschaffen werden. Einige Familien öffnen ihre Tore, um Arbeiten zu zeigen, die sie in den Wochen davor vorbereiten, oft aus einfachen Materialien und mit überlieferten Ideen geschaffen. Dieses Netzwerk von häuslichen Installationen vervollständigt die Bedeutung von Lagoon Nativity und erweitert die Perspektive von den Ufern der Lagune in die privaten Räume, die tief verwurzelte Traditionen bewahren.
