Il Conservatorio Agostino Steffani propone una giornata dedicata alla Masterclass di Musica Elettrica, con Giovanni Bindi e Daniele Carcassi.
Daniele Carcassi, nato nel 1993, è performer, compositore e sound artist fiorentino attivo dal 2015, con una ricerca che intreccia sound art, installazioni e intelligenza artificiale. Laureato con lode in Sound Design e Musica Elettronica, ha collaborato con la La Biennale di Venezia e con IRCAM, presentando i suoi lavori a livello internazionale e firmando oltre venti pubblicazioni; il progetto New Ruins ha ricevuto la menzione d’onore all’Ars Electronica 2025. Accanto all’attività artistica conduce workshop e laboratori rivolti a tutte le età, promuovendo pratiche sperimentali e inclusive.
Giovanni Bindi, nato nel 1993, è ricercatore in intelligenza artificiale applicata alla musica, laureato con lode all’Università degli Studi di Firenze e attualmente dottorando all’IRCAM nel gruppo ACIDS diretto da Philippe Esling. La sua ricerca si concentra sullo sviluppo di modelli di deep learning per l’audio, con particolare attenzione al controllo e all’interpretazione sonora; ha presentato i suoi lavori in conferenze come ICASSP e ISMIR, svolgendo attività didattica tra IRCAM e Sorbonne e collaborando a progetti artistici per IRCAM Forum e Sónar.
Il workshop offre una panoramica sulle tecniche di deep learning applicate all’audio, combinando teoria e pratica per esplorarne l’uso nella creazione artistica. Un’attenzione particolare è rivolta agli strumenti del team ACIDS dell’IRCAM, in particolare RAVE, modello di sintesi audio neurale in tempo reale utilizzabile in ambienti come VST, Max/MSP e PureData. Il percorso è modulare e adattabile agli interessi degli studenti, con l’obiettivo di fornire strumenti concettuali e pratici e stimolare una riflessione critica sull’uso dell’IA nella musica.

Daniele Carcassi, born in 1993, is a performer, composer, and sound artist from Florence, active since 2015, with research that intertwines sound art, installations, and artificial intelligence. Graduating with honors in Sound Design and Electronic Music, he has collaborated with the Venice Biennale and IRCAM, presenting his works internationally and signing over twenty publications; the New Ruins project received an honorable mention at Ars Electronica 2025. In addition to his artistic activities, he conducts workshops and laboratories aimed at all ages, promoting experimental and inclusive practices.
Giovanni Bindi, born in 1993, is a researcher in artificial intelligence applied to music, graduating with honors from the University of Florence and currently a doctoral student at IRCAM in the ACIDS group led by Philippe Esling. His research focuses on the development of deep learning models for audio, with particular attention to control and sound interpretation; he has presented his works at conferences such as ICASSP and ISMIR, engaging in educational activities between IRCAM and Sorbonne and collaborating on artistic projects for IRCAM Forum and Sónar.
The workshop offers an overview of deep learning techniques applied to audio, combining theory and practice to explore their use in artistic creation. Particular attention is given to the tools of the ACIDS team at IRCAM, particularly RAVE, a real-time neural audio synthesis model usable in environments such as VST, Max/MSP, and PureData. The course is modular and adaptable to the interests of the students, with the aim of providing conceptual and practical tools and stimulating critical reflection on the use of AI in music.

Daniele Carcassi, geboren 1993, ist Performer, Komponist und Sound Artist aus Florenz, der seit 2015 aktiv ist und eine Forschung betreibt, die Soundkunst, Installationen und künstliche Intelligenz verknüpft. Er hat mit Auszeichnung in Sound Design und Elektronischer Musik abgeschlossen, hat mit der Biennale von Venedig und IRCAM zusammengearbeitet, seine Arbeiten international präsentiert und über zwanzig Veröffentlichungen unterzeichnet; das Projekt New Ruins erhielt eine Ehrennennung beim Ars Electronica 2025. Neben seiner künstlerischen Tätigkeit leitet er Workshops und Labore für alle Altersgruppen und fördert experimentelle und inklusive Praktiken.
