Il Conservatorio Agostino Steffani propone una giornata dedicata alla Masterclass di danza storica.
Questo affascinante viaggio nel cuore del Rinascimento punta a far scoprire il legame profondo tra musica e danza nel XVI secolo. L’incontro offre l’opportunità di riscoprire repertori, gestualità e forme espressive che hanno animato le corti e la vita sociale dell’epoca, restituendo al pubblico il fascino di un patrimonio artistico di straordinaria eleganza.
Il percorso si concentrerà in particolare sulla danza e sulla musica tra la fine del Quattrocento e il Cinquecento, periodo in cui operò Andrea Palladio, figura simbolo della cultura della Repubblica di Venezia. Attraverso un approccio che unisce teoria e pratica, i partecipanti saranno guidati nella comprensione delle strutture coreutiche e musicali, entrando in contatto diretto con le modalità esecutive storicamente informate.
A condurre la masterclass sarà Letizia Maria Dradi, ricercatrice indipendente e docente presso il Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana di Lugano, nonché membro di AIRDanza. La sua attività si distingue per un approccio interdisciplinare che integra ricerca archivistica e iconografica, studio delle fonti e delle notazioni coreutiche, prassi esecutiva e divulgazione.

The Agostino Steffani Conservatory offers a day dedicated to the Masterclass of historical dance.
This fascinating journey into the heart of the Renaissance aims to reveal the deep connection between music and dance in the 16th century. The meeting provides the opportunity to rediscover repertoires, gestures, and expressive forms that animated the courts and social life of the time, restoring to the public the charm of an artistic heritage of extraordinary elegance.
The path will particularly focus on dance and music between the late 15th century and the 16th century, a period during which Andrea Palladio, a symbolic figure of the culture of the Republic of Venice, operated. Through an approach that combines theory and practice, participants will be guided in understanding choreutic and musical structures, coming into direct contact with historically informed performance practices.
The masterclass will be conducted by Letizia Maria Dradi, an independent researcher and lecturer at the Conservatory of Italian Switzerland in Lugano, as well as a member of AIRDanza. Her work stands out for an interdisciplinary approach that integrates archival and iconographic research, study of sources and choreutic notations, performance practice, and dissemination.
