Eden è un film diretto da Ron Howard.
La storia è basata su fatti realmente accaduti ed è ambientata durante la crisi del 1929, in cui il Dottor Ritter e la moglie Dora, due europei idealisti, fuggono dalla Germania per trasferirsi sull'isola di Floreana, nell'arcipelago delle Galàpagos, rinnegando i valori borghesi che ritengono stiano distruggendo la vera natura dell'umanità. Ma la loro pace e solitudine dura ben poco quando arrivano altri coloni, quali Margaret e Heinz Wittmer e la baronessa Eloise assieme ai suoi due amanti. Il maltempo, la fauna selvatica e la mancanza di comfort renderanno la convivenza difficile e faticosa, eppure il pericolo maggiore è quello di coesistere con vicini disperati, pronti a tutto pur di affermare sè stessi e il proprio dominio sul territorio.
Il film vede protagonisti Jude Law nei panni di Ritter e Vanessa Kirby nei panni di Dora.

The story is based on true events and is set during the 1929 crisis, in which Dr. Ritter and his wife Dora, two idealistic Europeans, flee Germany to move to Floreana Island in the Galapagos archipelago, renouncing the bourgeois values they believe are destroying humanity's true nature. However, their peace and solitude last little when other settlers arrive, such as Margaret and Heinz Wittmer and Baroness Eloise along with her two lovers. Bad weather, wildlife, and the lack of comfort will make cohabitation difficult and exhausting, yet the greatest danger is coexisting with desperate neighbors, ready to do anything to assert themselves and their dominance over the territory.
The film stars Jude Law as Ritter and Vanessa Kirby as Dora.

Die Geschichte basiert auf wahren Begebenheiten und spielt während der Krise von 1929, als Dr. Ritter und seine Frau Dora, zwei idealistische Europäer, aus Deutschland fliehen, um sich auf der Insel Floreana im Galápagos-Archipel niederzulassen, und dabei die bürgerlichen Werte ablehnen, die ihrer Meinung nach die wahre Natur der Menschheit zerstören. Doch ihr Frieden und ihre Einsamkeit währt nur kurz, als weitere Siedler eintreffen, darunter Margaret und Heinz Wittmer sowie die Baroness Eloise mit ihren zwei Geliebten. Schlechtes Wetter, Wildtiere und der Mangel an Komfort werden das Zusammenleben schwierig und mühsam machen, und doch ist die größte Gefahr, mit verzweifelten Nachbarn zu koexistieren, die bereit sind, alles zu tun, um sich selbst und ihre Herrschaft über das Gebiet zu behaupten.
