In occasione della dodicesima edizione del Castelfranco Veneto Jazz Festival, il Teatro Accademico di Castelfranco Veneto ospita Maria Pia De Vito e il suo progetto "Buarqueana" dove focalizza la sua appropriazione del repertorio brasiliano, concentrandosi sulle canzoni di Chico Buarque de Hollanda, che ha personalmente preso parte alla traduzione dei testi dal portoghese al dialetto napoletano.
Siamo di fronte a uno dei progetti più sentiti dalla De Vito, nonché uno dei più chiaramente transculturali. La lingua napoletana si dimostra formidabile strumento musicale, lirico e ritmico allo stesso tempo. In questa visione metamorfica, le danze campane incrociano quelle brasiliane, il samba e la tammurriata.
Pluripremiata al Top Jazz, la De Vito è un’artista a tutto tondo: compositrice e arrangiatrice oltre che performer, è un’instancabile esploratrice del linguaggio e degli stili musicali legati all’improvvisazione. I suoi interessi spaziano dal jazz alla musica più sperimentale, dalla tradizione classica alla canzone popolare partenopea: una voce e una personalità artistica decisamente libere e straordinariamente moderne.
A Castelfranco, verrà accompagnata al pianoforte da Huw Warren, dal chitarrista Roberto Taufic e dal batterista e percussionista Roberto Rossi.

On the occasion of the twelfth edition of the Castelfranco Veneto Jazz Festival, the Teatro Accademico di Castelfranco Veneto hosts Maria Pia De Vito and her project "Buarqueana," where she focuses on her appropriation of the Brazilian repertoire, concentrating on the songs of Chico Buarque de Hollanda, for which she personally took part in translating the lyrics from Portuguese to the Neapolitan dialect.
We are faced with one of De Vito's most heartfelt projects, as well as one of the most clearly transcultural. The Neapolitan language proves to be a formidable musical, lyrical, and rhythmic instrument at the same time. In this metamorphic vision, the dances from Campania intersect with those from Brazil, samba and tammurriata.
A multiple award-winner at Top Jazz, De Vito is a well-rounded artist: composer and arranger as well as performer, she is an tireless explorer of the language and musical styles connected to improvisation. Her interests range from jazz to more experimental music, from classical tradition to Neapolitan folk song: a voice and an artistic personality that are decidedly free and extraordinarily modern.
In Castelfranco, she will be accompanied on piano by Huw Warren, guitarist Roberto Taufic, and drummer and percussionist Roberto Rossi.

Anlässlich der zwölften Ausgabe des Castelfranco Veneto Jazz Festivals beherbergt das Teatro Accademico von Castelfranco Veneto Maria Pia De Vito und ihr Projekt "Buarqueana", in dem sie sich der Aneignung des brasilianischen Repertoires widmet, insbesondere den Liedern von Chico Buarque de Hollanda, für die sie persönlich an der Übersetzung der Texte vom Portugiesischen in den neapolitanischen Dialekt mitgewirkt hat.
Wir stehen hier vor einem der persönlichsten Projekte von De Vito, ebenso wie einem der deutlich transkulturellen. Die neapolitanische Sprache erweist sich als großartiges musikalisches, lyrisches und rhythmisches Instrument zugleich. In dieser metamorphosen Vision kreuzen sich die Tänze aus Kampanien mit den brasilianischen, Samba und Tammurriata.
Die mehrfach ausgezeichnete De Vito ist ein Allroundtalent: Komponistin und Arrangeurin, sowie Performerin, ist sie eine unermüdliche Entdeckerin der Sprache und der musikalischen Stile, die mit Improvisation verbunden sind. Ihre Interessen reichen von Jazz über experimentelle Musik bis hin zur klassischen Tradition und dem neapolitanischen Volkslied: eine Stimme und eine künstlerische Persönlichkeit, die entschieden frei und außergewöhnlich modern sind.
In Castelfranco wird sie am Klavier von Huw Warren, dem Gitarristen Roberto Taufic und dem Schlagzeuger und Perkussionisten Roberto Rossi begleitet.
