Paris: Land of Italians – the new winter exhibition at the Bafile Cultural Center in Caorle.
Paris, promised land for generations of Italian artists! From Giorgio de Chirico to Giorgio Morandi, from Gio Ponti to Lucio Fontana, a journey to discover the key players who contributed to transforming the French capital into one of the nerve centers of modern and contemporary art.
An exhibition that tells the deep bond between Italian artists and Paris, a meeting place, comparison, and experimentation, where for over half a century artistic paths, friendships, rivalries, and aesthetic revolutions capable of changing the face of European art have intertwined.
From the Belle Époque to the avant-gardes, from the Italiens de Paris to the research of the post-World War II period, the exhibition route spans different generations and sensibilities, putting Italian protagonists in dialogue with some of the great international figures, including Pablo Picasso, Paul Jenkins, and Andy Warhol. A narrative that showcases the richness of cultural exchanges between Italy and France, leading to the progressive affirmation of New York as the new capital of contemporaneity.
Paris: Land of Italians retraces this extraordinary cultural adventure, giving voice not only to the great masters but also to lesser-known personalities and individual stories that helped build a fundamental season in the history of art. For some artists, Paris was a stop in search of success, for others, a place to find a new expressive freedom, until it became a second home and a space to reinvent their identity without forgetting their origins.
