Nato nel 2021 con il riconoscimento ufficiale della Regione Veneto, l’Ecomuseo della Valle del Biois abbraccia i comuni di Canale d’Agordo, Falcade e Vallada Agordina.
Queste tre località, incastonate nel cuore delle Dolomiti, condividono una forte identità culturale, linguistica e folkloristica, profondamente legata alla storia e alla natura del territorio.
A differenza di un museo tradizionale, l’Ecomuseo non è racchiuso entro quattro mura: è un museo diffuso, che vive all’aria aperta e coinvolge direttamente chi lo abita. Sono infatti gli abitanti stessi, insieme alla comunità, a farsi custodi e promotori del patrimonio ambientale, storico e culturale della valle.
Camminando tra i paesi, i sentieri e le antiche borgate è possibile scoprire racconti, usanze, saperi e memorie che hanno modellato nei secoli l’identità di questa terra.
L’Ecomuseo è infatti un progetto vivo, dinamico, nato per salvaguardare le radici del territorio e trasmetterle alle generazioni future e a tutti coloro che vogliono scoprire la nostra valle nelle sue diverse sfaccettature.
Parte di una rete che conta oggi circa 230 ecomusei in tutta Italia, quello della Valle del Biois vuole invitare a vivere un’esperienza autentica, tra paesaggi mozzafiato, storie di vita e tradizioni che parlano ancora il linguaggio genuino della montagna.
Ogni martedì mattina, dal 1° luglio al 26 agosto, vi aspetta un itinerario guidato che unisce arte, tradizione e conoscenza del territorio.
Il nostro percorso inizia a Vallada Agordina con la visita alla straordinaria chiesa monumentale di San Simon, uno scrigno di spiritualità e bellezza immerso nel verde. Qui potremo ammirare gli splendidi affreschi del Paris Bordone, pittore rinascimentale e allievo di Tiziano, che impreziosiscono l’interno della chiesa con colori e scene di grande intensità.
Poco distante, raggiungeremo il villaggio di Cogul, dove si trova il tabià di Attilio, datato 1670. Entrando in questo antico fienile in legno di cirmolo, dal profumo inconfondibile, faremo un vero tuffo nel passato, circondati da oggetti e attrezzi del mondo contadino del Novecento.
A rendere l’esperienza ancora più completa ci penseranno Françoise e Marcello, che ci accompagneranno alla scoperta delle piante spontanee della valle, raccontandoci le loro proprietà e le curiosità che le rendono uniche.
Un’occasione per vivere la montagna in modo autentico, tra arte, memoria e natura viva.

Born in 2021 with the official recognition of the Veneto Region, the Ecomuseum of the Biois Valley embraces the municipalities of Canale d'Agordo, Falcade, and Vallada Agordina.
These three locations, nestled in the heart of the Dolomites, share a strong cultural, linguistic, and folkloristic identity, deeply linked to the history and nature of the territory.
Unlike a traditional museum, the Ecomuseum is not confined within four walls: it is a diffused museum, living outdoors and directly involving those who inhabit it. The inhabitants themselves, together with the community, take on the role of custodians and promoters of the environmental, historical, and cultural heritage of the valley.
Walking through the villages, paths, and ancient hamlets, it is possible to discover stories, customs, knowledge, and memories that have shaped the identity of this land over the centuries.
The Ecomuseum is, in fact, a living, dynamic project, born to safeguard the roots of the territory and transmit them to future generations and to all those who wish to discover our valley in its various facets.
Part of a network that today includes about 230 ecomuseums throughout Italy, that of the Biois Valley invites you to live an authentic experience, among breathtaking landscapes, life stories, and traditions that still speak the genuine language of the mountain.
Every Tuesday morning, from July 1st to August 26th, a guided itinerary awaits you, blending art, tradition, and knowledge of the territory.
Our journey begins in Vallada Agordina with a visit to the extraordinary monumental church of San Simon, a treasure of spirituality and beauty immersed in greenery. Here we can admire the magnificent frescoes of Paris Bordone, a Renaissance painter and student of Titian, which enrich the church's interior with colors and scenes of great intensity.
Ashort distance away, we will reach the village of Cogul, where Attilio's tabià, dated 1670, is located. Entering this ancient larch hayloft, with its unmistakable scent, we will take a true plunge into the past, surrounded by objects and tools from the peasant world of the twentieth century.
To make the experience even more complete, Françoise and Marcello will accompany us to discover the spontaneous plants of the valley, telling us about their properties and the curiosities that make them unique.

Es sind tatsächlich die Bewohner selbst, zusammen mit der Gemeinschaft, die Hüter und Förderer des Umwelt-, Geschichts- und Kulturerbes des Tals werden.
Beim Wandern durch die Dörfer, Pfade und alten Weiler kann man Geschichten, Bräuche, Wissen und Erinnerungen entdecken, die im Laufe der Jahrhunderte die Identität dieses Landes geprägt haben.
Das Ecomuseo ist ein lebendiges, dynamisches Projekt, das geschaffen wurde, um die Wurzeln des Gebiets zu bewahren und sie an zukünftige Generationen sowie an alle weiterzugeben, die unser Tal in seinen verschiedenen Facetten erkunden möchten.
Teil eines Netzwerks, das heute etwa 230 Ecomuseen in ganz Italien umfasst, möchte das Ecomuseo della Valle del Biois zu einem authentischen Erlebnis einladen, zwischen atemberaubenden Landschaften, Lebensgeschichten und Traditionen, die noch die echte Sprache der Berge sprechen.
Jeden Dienstagmorgen, vom 1. Juli bis 26. August, erwartet Sie eine geführte Tour, die Kunst, Tradition und Wissen über das Gebiet verbindet.
Unseren Weg beginnen wir in Vallada Agordina mit einem Besuch der außergewöhnlichen monumentalen Kirche San Simon, einem Schatz der Spiritualität und Schönheit, eingebettet im Grünen. Hier können wir die prächtigen Fresken von Paris Bordone, einem römischen Maler und Schüler von Tizian, bewundern, die das Innere der Kirche mit Farben und Szenen von großer Intensität schmücken.
In der Nähe erreichen wir das Dorf Cogul, wo sich der Tabià von Attilio aus dem Jahr 1670 befindet. Wenn wir diesen alten Holzscheunen, die nach Zirbelkiefer duften, betreten, tauchen wir wahrhaft in die Vergangenheit ein, umgeben von Gegenständen und Werkzeugen der landwirtschaftlichen Welt des 20. Jahrhunderts.
Die Erfahrung wird durch Françoise und Marcello noch bereichert, die uns bei der Entdeckung der Wildpflanzen des Tals begleiten und uns von ihren Eigenschaften und den Besonderheiten erzählen, die sie einzigartig machen.
Eine Gelegenheit, die Berge auf authentische Weise zu erleben, zwischen Kunst, Erinnerung und lebendiger Natur.
