Nato nel 2021 con il riconoscimento ufficiale della Regione Veneto, l’Ecomuseo della Valle del Biois abbraccia i comuni di Canale d’Agordo, Falcade e Vallada Agordina.
Queste tre località, incastonate nel cuore delle Dolomiti, condividono una forte identità culturale, linguistica e folkloristica, profondamente legata alla storia e alla natura del territorio.
A differenza di un museo tradizionale, l’Ecomuseo non è racchiuso entro quattro mura: è un museo diffuso, che vive all’aria aperta e coinvolge direttamente chi lo abita. Sono infatti gli abitanti stessi, insieme alla comunità, a farsi custodi e promotori del patrimonio ambientale, storico e culturale della valle.
Camminando tra i paesi, i sentieri e le antiche borgate è possibile scoprire racconti, usanze, saperi e memorie che hanno modellato nei secoli l’identità di questa terra.
L’Ecomuseo è infatti un progetto vivo, dinamico, nato per salvaguardare le radici del territorio e trasmetterle alle generazioni future e a tutti coloro che vogliono scoprire la nostra valle nelle sue diverse sfaccettature.
Parte di una rete che conta oggi circa 230 ecomusei in tutta Italia, quello della Valle del Biois vuole invitare a vivere un’esperienza autentica, tra paesaggi mozzafiato, storie di vita e tradizioni che parlano ancora il linguaggio genuino della montagna.
Ogni mercoledì mattina la guida dell’Ecomuseo vi accompagnerà nella visita alle tre latterie sociali situate nelle frazioni alte del Comune di Canale d’Agordo alla scoperta della loro storia e attività.
Ciascun “caselo” racconta, infatti un passato fatto di tradizioni, riti e usanze, uno spaccato della vita di montagna: dalla fienagione alla civiltà contadina, toccando la figura originale del poeta contadino Valerio Da Pos.

Born in 2021 with the official recognition of the Veneto Region, the Ecomuseum of the Biois Valley encompasses the municipalities of Canale d’Agordo, Falcade, and Vallada Agordina.
These three locations, nestled in the heart of the Dolomites, share a strong cultural, linguistic, and folkloric identity, deeply tied to the history and nature of the territory.
Unlike a traditional museum, the Ecomuseum is not confined within four walls: it is a dispersed museum that lives outdoors and directly involves those who inhabit it. It is, in fact, the inhabitants themselves, together with the community, who become guardians and promoters of the environmental, historical, and cultural heritage of the valley.
Walking among the towns, paths, and ancient villages, it is possible to discover stories, customs, knowledge, and memories that have shaped the identity of this land over the centuries.
The Ecomuseum is indeed a living, dynamic project, born to safeguard the roots of the territory and transmit them to future generations and to all those who wish to discover our valley in its various facets.
Part of a network that currently counts about 230 ecomuseums throughout Italy, the one in the Biois Valley invites you to experience an authentic journey, among breathtaking landscapes, life stories, and traditions that still speak the genuine language of the mountains.
Every Wednesday morning, the guide of the Ecomuseum will take you on a visit to the three social dairies located in the higher fractions of the Municipality of Canale d’Agordo to discover their history and activities.
Each “caselo” indeed tells a past made of traditions, rituals, and customs, a snapshot of mountain life: from haymaking to peasant civilization, touching upon the original figure of the peasant poet Valerio Da Pos.

Diese drei Orte, eingebettet im Herzen der Dolomiten, teilen eine starke kulturelle, sprachliche und folkloristische Identität, die tief mit der Geschichte und der Natur des Gebiets verbunden ist.
Im Gegensatz zu einem traditionellen Museum ist das Ecomuseo nicht in vier Wänden eingeschlossen: Es ist ein weitläufiges Museum, das im Freien lebt und diejenigen, die dort leben, direkt einbezieht. Es sind tatsächlich die Bewohner selbst, zusammen mit der Gemeinschaft, die die Bewahrer und Förderer des Umwelt-, Geschichte- und Kulturerbes des Tals sind.
Beim Wandern zwischen den Dörfern, Wegen und alten Weiler kann man Geschichten, Bräuche, Wissen und Erinnerungen entdecken, die über die Jahrhunderte die Identität dieses Landes geprägt haben.
Das Ecomuseo ist in der Tat ein lebendiges, dynamisches Projekt, das ins Leben gerufen wurde, um die Wurzeln des Gebiets zu bewahren und sie an zukünftige Generationen sowie alle, die unser Tal in seinen verschiedenen Facetten entdecken möchten, weiterzugeben.
Teil eines Netzwerks, das heute etwa 230 Ecomuseen in ganz Italien umfasst, möchte das Ecomuseo der Valle del Biois dazu einladen, ein authentisches Erlebnis zu erleben, zwischen atemberaubenden Landschaften, Lebensgeschichten und Traditionen, die noch die ursprüngliche Sprache der Berge sprechen.
Jeden Mittwochmorgen wird der Führer des Ecomuseo Sie bei einem Besuch der drei Genossenschaftskäsereien in den oberen Ortsteilen der Gemeinde Canale d’Agordo begleiten und deren Geschichte und Aktivitäten entdecken.
Jeder „Caselo“ erzählt tatsächlich von einer Vergangenheit, die von Traditionen, Riten und Bräuchen geprägt ist, einem Ausschnitt aus dem Leben in den Bergen: von der Heuernte bis zur Bauernkultur, berührt die ursprüngliche Figur des Bauernpoeten Valerio Da Pos.
Es besteht die Möglichkeit, lokale Käsesorten zu probieren (optional, 3,00 €).
