Odisseo, leggendario re greco di Itaca, intraprende un lungo e pericoloso viaggio di ritorno in patria dopo la guerra di Troia. Nel corso del cammino affronta numerose prove e incontra esseri mitici, tra cui il ciclope Polifemo, le Sirene e la ninfa Calipso. Spinto dal desiderio di rientrare a Itaca, Odisseo tenta di ricongiungersi con la moglie Penelope, e col figlio Telemaco, che lo attendono durante la sua lunga assenza. “Odissea” è un kolossal epico, una storia che resta potentissima anche oggi. Dietro i mostri, gli dèi e le isole incantate, il poema racconta una domanda essenziale: che cosa significa davvero tornare? Nel caso di Ulisse, tornare vuol dire attraversare il mare, sopravvivere alla guerra e alla collera divina, ma anche recuperare un nome, una casa e un’identità.

Driven by the desire to return to Ithaca, Odysseus tries to reunite with his wife Penelope and his son Telemachus, who await him during his long absence. “Odyssey” is an epic blockbuster, a story that remains immensely powerful even today. Behind the monsters, the gods, and the enchanted islands, the poem tells an essential question: what does it truly mean to return? In the case of Ulysses, returning means crossing the sea, surviving war and divine wrath, but also reclaiming a name, a home, and an identity.

Auf dem Weg dorthin muss er zahlreiche Prüfungen bestehen und trifft mythische Wesen, darunter den Zyklopen Polyphem, die Sirenen und die Nymphe Kalypso. Getrieben von dem Verlangen, nach Ithaka zurückzukehren, versucht Odysseus, sich mit seiner Frau Penelope und seinem Sohn Telemachus, die während seiner langen Abwesenheit auf ihn warten, wieder zu vereinen. „Odyssee“ ist ein episches Blockbuster, eine Geschichte, die bis heute enorm kraftvoll bleibt. Hinter den Monstern, den Göttern und den verzauberten Inseln erzählt das Gedicht eine essentielle Frage: Was bedeutet es wirklich, zurückzukehren?
