Venti parole per raccontare la Russia: senza la pretesa di arrivare a capirla del tutto, ma con l’intenzione di superare stereotipi e leggende, non arrendersi di fronte alla sua arcana “anima”, penetrare nelle strategie della propaganda putiniana, scoprire come la retorica e le narrazioni abbiano, ancora una volta, prevalso sulla Storia e sulla realtà.
Tutto attraverso l’analisi di 20 concetti culturali che dall’antichità, attraverso il filtro dell’esperienza sovietica, sono arrivati fino ai giorni nostri. Spesso mistificati, risemantizzati, selezionati per riscrivere più volte la storia dal punto di vista del regime in carica. “Idea russa”, “ecumenismo”, “stabilità”, “patriottismo monumentale”, fino a batjuška, il “caro padre-padrone” che molti leader hanno preso come modello e che molti cittadini-sudditi paiono ancora gradire e vagheggiare.

All through the analysis of 20 cultural concepts that have traveled from antiquity, filtered through the Soviet experience, to the present day. Often mystified, resemantized, selected to rewrite history multiple times from the perspective of the ruling regime. “Russian idea,” “ecumenism,” “stability,” “monumental patriotism,” up to batjuška, the “dear father-master” that many leaders have taken as a model and that many citizen-subjects still seem to appreciate and yearn for.

Zwanzig Worte, um Russland zu erzählen: ohne den Anspruch, es vollständig zu verstehen, aber mit der Absicht, Stereotypen und Legenden zu überwinden, sich nicht der geheimnisvollen "Seele" zu ergeben, die Strategien der Putin-Propaganda zu durchdringen und zu entdecken, wie Rhetorik und Narrative erneut über die Geschichte und die Realität gesiegt haben.
Alles durch die Analyse von 20 kulturellen Konzepten, die von der Antike über die Linse der sowjetischen Erfahrung bis in die Gegenwart gelangt sind. Oft mystifiziert, neu interpretiert, ausgewählt, um die Geschichte immer wieder aus der Sicht des regierenden Regimes neu zu schreiben. "Russische Idee", "Ökumenismus", "Stabilität", "monumentaler Patriotismus", bis hin zu batjuška, dem "lieben Vater-Herrscher", den viele Führer als Vorbild genommen haben und dem viele Bürger-Untertanen anscheinend immer noch gefallen und nachtrauern.
