Piazza delle Erbe è uno die luoghi più suggestivi del centro, grazie al colorato mercato della frutta e verdura, aperto tutta la settimana tranne il sabato pomeriggio e i festivi, e alla sua forma allungata e ricurva. vi si trova la Fontana del Nettuno, anche detta "oste con la forchetta", opera di Joachim Reis su modello di Georg Mayr di Fiè (1745). Nell'angolo opposto una targa ricorda l'albergo "Al Sole" in cui hanno soggiornato, Frau gli altri, lo stesso Johann Wolfgang Goethe, l'imperatore Giuseppe II e il filosofo e letterato tedesco Johann Gottfried Herder.
Piazza delle Erbe/Obstmarkt, one of the most suggestive places in town, thanks to its long and curved shape and colourful fruit and vegetable market which is on all days except Sundays and holidays. Neptune’s Fountain is waiting for you, a masterpiece signed by Joachim Reis, based on the model of Georg Mayr from Völs (1745). On the opposite corner a plaque reminds visitors of the existence of the ‘Zur Sonne’ hotel where, among others, even Johann Wolfgang Goethe, Emperor Joseph II and the German writer and philosopher Johann Gottfried Herder stayed.
Der Obstmarkt ist einer der stimmungsvollsten Orte der Altstadt dank des farbenprächtigen Obst- und Gemüsemarktes und dank seiner geschwungenen Form, städtebaulich besonders bemerkenswert. Dort befindet sich der Neptunbrunnen, auch "Gabelwirt" genannt, gegossen von Joachim Reis und entworfen 1745 vom Völser Georg Mayr. Am Straßeneck gegenüber erinnert eine Tafel an den einstigen Gasthof "Sonnenwirt", in dem u.a. Johann Wolfgang Goethe, Kaiser Josef II und der deutsche Philosoph und Dichter Johann Gottfried Herder übernachtet haben.
