Dopo aver lavorato come danzatore con Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, David Zambrano e Pierre Droulers, Thomas Hauert, originario della Svizzera, ha fondato la sua compagnia ZOO a Bruxelles nel 1998. Da allora la compagnia ha creato più di 20 opere, rappresentate in tutto il mondo. Il progetto Where Is Everybody? nasce dall’incontro tra Zoo e Platform-K di Gand, che lavora con artisti con disabilità. Un incontro che ha permesso di condividere tecniche e vocabolari del movimento e favorire interazioni spontanee e complesse tra danzatori, spazio e musica. Da qui il desiderio di approfondire un approccio creativo, collaborativo e interattivo alla coreografia, lavorando con un gruppo misto di sei danzatori e sviluppando un lavoro coreografico per la scena. La musica, selezionata per la sua risonanza emotiva con gli artisti, è diventata un motore, ha ispirato i movimenti, strutturato lo spazio, sostenuto la drammaturgia come la colonna sonora di un film. Un lavoro che non intende semplicemente dare visibilità a corpi spesso esclusi dalla scena, ma consente loro di trasformare la nostra concezione di creazione, alterità e presenza.
After working as a dancer with Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, David Zambrano, and Pierre Droulers, Thomas Hauert, originally from Switzerland, founded his company ZOO in Brussels in 1998. Since then, the company has created over 20 works, performed around the world. The project Where Is Everybody? arises from the meeting between Zoo and Platform-K in Ghent, which works with artists with disabilities. This meeting allowed for the sharing of movement techniques and vocabularies and fostered spontaneous and complex interactions between dancers, space, and music. Hence the desire to deepen a creative, collaborative, and interactive approach to choreography, working with a mixed group of six dancers and developing choreographic work for the stage. The music, selected for its emotional resonance with the artists, has become a driving force, inspiring movements, structuring space, and supporting the dramaturgy like the soundtrack of a film. This work does not simply aim to give visibility to bodies often excluded from the stage but enables them to transform our conception of creation, otherness, and presence.
Nach der Arbeit als Tänzer bei Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, David Zambrano und Pierre Droulers gründete der ursprünglich aus der Schweiz stammende Thomas Hauert 1998 seine Kompanie ZOO in Brüssel. Seitdem hat die Kompanie mehr als 20 Werke geschaffen, die weltweit aufgeführt wurden. Das Projekt Where Is Everybody? entstand aus der Begegnung zwischen Zoo und Platform-K aus Gent, die mit Künstlern mit Behinderungen arbeitet. Eine Begegnung, die es ermöglichte, Techniken und Vokabulare der Bewegung zu teilen und spontane sowie komplexe Interaktionen zwischen Tänzern, Raum und Musik zu fördern. Von hier aus entstand der Wunsch, einen kreativen, kollaborativen und interaktiven Ansatz zur Choreografie zu vertiefen, indem mit einer gemischten Gruppe von sechs Tänzern gearbeitet und eine choreografische Arbeit für die Bühne entwickelt wurde. Die Musik, die aufgrund ihrer emotionalen Resonanz mit den Künstlern ausgewählt wurde, wurde zu einem Motor, inspirierte die Bewegungen, strukturierte den Raum und unterstützte die Dramaturgie wie der Soundtrack eines Films. Eine Arbeit, die nicht einfach darauf abzielt, Körper, die oft von der Bühne ausgeschlossen sind, sichtbar zu machen, sondern es ihnen ermöglicht, unser Verständnis von Kreation, Alterität und Präsenz zu verwandeln.
