’Etna e il Fuji, così come li descrive Fosco Maraini, incarnano due forze opposte e complementari: il primo è possente, antico, simbolo del tempo e del destino; il secondo è giovane, agile, proteso verso l’ardire, vicino all’amore e alla morte.
I fratelli del titolo dell’ultima creazione di Roberto Zappalà sono il Fuji e l’Etna, i due vulcani per eccellenza del mondo. Partendo da Lava Bubbles, creazione del 2015, la nuova produzione pone l’attenzione in maniera forte e vigorosa sul rapporto tra la performance dei danzatori e quella dei Munedaiko, musicisti consacrati alla pratica e valorizzazione del tamburo tradizionale giapponese “Taiko”, dove la postura, il movimento e la concentrazione sono fondamentali. Così come i vulcani sono all’origine della conformazione del pianeta, la percussione è all’origine dell’arte musicale e culturale creata dall’uomo. I tamburi provocano bolle di suoni, di ritmi che “scoppiano” nelle orecchie e nel cervello degli spettatori; ritmi che i danzatori seguono e provocano allo stesso tempo in un fluire incessante, un respiro comune che armonizza i corpi, con le civiltà di origine e con le civiltà tra di loro.
