Un pomeriggio all’aria aperta tra natura, storia e panorami suggestivi: l’escursione “Il Sentiero del Monte Cecilia” rappresenta un’occasione ideale per scoprire uno degli angoli più affascinanti dei Colli Euganei meridionali. L’iniziativa, adatta a partecipanti di tutte le età, unisce il piacere del cammino alla scoperta del territorio, in un’esperienza coinvolgente e accessibile.
La partenza è prevista dal paese di Baone, da cui il gruppo si incamminerà lungo un itinerario vario e ricco di spunti naturalistici. Il percorso iniziale costeggia un uliveto, per poi addentrarsi nel bosco, dove sarà possibile osservare sulle rocce un fenomeno geologico particolare: le cosiddette esfoliazioni cipollari, che modellano la superficie delle pietre in sottili strati sovrapposti.
Proseguendo verso la cima del Monte Cecilia, i partecipanti avranno modo di conoscere la storia del castello medievale che un tempo dominava il colle, oggi scomparso, ma ancora vivo nella memoria del territorio.
Usciti dal bosco, il paesaggio cambia completamente: si attraversano i vegri, caratteristici prati aridi tipici della zona euganea, che offrono un ambiente naturale unico e prezioso. Da qui si aprono ampie vedute panoramiche verso Monselice e Arquà Petrarca, regalando scorci di grande bellezza.

Il punto di ritrovo è il parcheggio della palestra di Baone, in Via Monte Gula. La quota di partecipazione è: 9 euro per gli adulti, 4 euro per i ragazzi dagli 8 ai 17 anni, mentre i bambini fino a 7 anni partecipano gratuitamente.
È inoltre possibile noleggiare bastoncini da trekking al costo di 1 euro a paio, da richiedere al momento dell’iscrizione. Per chi desidera partecipare a più escursioni, è disponibile anche un carnet da 10 uscite con gadget in omaggio.

An afternoon outdoors among nature, history, and stunning views: the hike “The Path of Monte Cecilia” represents an ideal opportunity to discover one of the most fascinating corners of the southern Euganean Hills. The initiative, suitable for participants of all ages, combines the pleasure of walking with the exploration of the territory, in an engaging and accessible experience.
Departure is scheduled from the village of Baone, from where the group will walk along a varied itinerary rich in naturalistic insights. The initial route runs alongside an olive grove, then delves into the forest, where it will be possible to observe a particular geological phenomenon on the rocks: the so-called onion exfoliations, which shape the surface of the stones into thin superimposed layers.
Continuing towards the summit of Monte Cecilia, participants will learn about the history of the medieval castle that once dominated the hill, now gone, but still alive in the memory of the area.
Upon exiting the forest, the landscape changes completely: one traverses the vegri, characteristic dry meadows typical of the Euganean area, which offer a unique and precious natural environment. From here, wide panoramic views open towards Monselice and Arquà Petrarca, providing glimpses of great beauty.

Ein Nachmittag an der frischen Luft zwischen Natur, Geschichte und beeindruckenden Landschaften: die Wanderung „Der Weg des Monte Cecilia“ ist eine ideale Gelegenheit, einen der faszinierendsten Orte der südlichen Euganeischen Hügel zu entdecken. Die Veranstaltung, die für Teilnehmer jeden Alters geeignet ist, verbindet das Vergnügen am Gehen mit der Entdeckung des Gebiets in einem spannenden und zugänglichen Erlebnis.
Der Ausgangspunkt ist das Dorf Baone, von wo aus die Gruppe einem abwechslungsreichen und naturbelassenen Weg folgt. Der anfängliche Pfad verläuft entlang eines Olivenhains, bevor er in den Wald eintaucht, wo es möglich ist, an den Felsen ein besonderes geologisches Phänomen zu beobachten: die sogenannten Zwiebelhäutungen, die die Oberfläche der Steine in dünne übereinanderliegende Schichten formen.
Auf dem Weg zum Gipfel des Monte Cecilia haben die Teilnehmer die Gelegenheit, die Geschichte der mittelalterlichen Burg kennenzulernen, die einst den Hügel beherrschte – sie ist heute verschwunden, lebt aber weiterhin in der Erinnerung des Gebiets.
Nachdem man den Wald verlassen hat, verändert sich die Landschaft völlig: Man durchquert die vegri, charakteristische, trockene Wiesen, die typisch für die euganeische Region sind, und bieten eine einzigartige und wertvolle Naturlandschaft. Von hier aus eröffnen sich weite panoramische Ausblicke auf Monselice und Arquà Petrarca, die wunderschöne Einblicke gewähren.
