RESTARE CIVILI SI PUO'? Cittadini, Utenti, Clienti
Il Festival dei Popoli nasce, quasi per caso ma non per sbaglio, quando un gruppo musicale cileno che si chiama Inti Illimani, cerca ascolto per il suo popolo incontrando invece diffidenza e “sordità”: nello sfondo si riconoscono le ombre della guerra fredda che divide “Est” ed “Ovest” e distribuisce legittimità o meno ai popoli del “Sud” del mondo.
A Badia, sollecitato dal Concilio Vaticano II, dalla Pacem in Terris, dalla Popoulorum Progressio, sensibile alla voce degli “ultimi”, don Pier Antonio li “sponsorizza”, animato dal riconoscimento di quei “diritti umani” che l’Onu ha proclamato dopo gli orrori delle guerre mondiali.
E poi, l’anno dopo ed il successivo e ancora, crea momenti di attenzione e sensibilizzazione verso le condizioni dei diritti umani tra i popoli di quello che era chiamato Terzo Mondo, ponendo le basi di una manifestazione che si vuole poi istituzionalizzare con cadenza regolare, e che oggi giunge alla sua quarantaduesima edizione.
Tutte le serate del festival sono ad ingresso gratuito e prenderanno il via alle ore 21.00
CAN WE REMAIN CIVIL? Citizens, Users, Clients
The Festival of Peoples was born almost by chance but not by mistake, when a Chilean musical group called Inti Illimani seeks an audience for its people, instead encountering mistrust and "deafness": in the background, the shadows of the Cold War that divides the "East" and "West" can be recognized, legitimizing or not the peoples of the "South" of the world.
In Badia, prompted by the Second Vatican Council, by Pacem in Terris, by Popoulorum Progressio, sensitive to the voices of the "last," Father Pier Antonio "sponsors" them, driven by the recognition of those "human rights" that the UN proclaimed after the horrors of the world wars.
And then, the following year and the next and again, he creates moments of attention and awareness towards the conditions of human rights among the peoples of what was called the Third World, laying the foundations for an event that is then intended to be institutionalized with regular frequency, and which today reaches its forty-second edition.
All evenings of the festival are free of charge and will commence at 9:00 PM

Das Festival der Völker entsteht fast zufällig, aber nicht ohne Grund, als eine chilenische Musikgruppe namens Inti Illimani um Gehör für ihr Volk bittet und stattdessen auf Misstrauen und „Taubheit“ stößt: Im Hintergrund sind die Schatten des Kalten Krieges zu erkennen, der „Ost“ und „West“ trennt und den Völkern des „Südens“ der Welt Legitimität oder deren Fehlen zuspricht.
In Badia, angeregt durch das Zweite Vatikanische Konzil, durch die Pacem in Terris, durch die Popoulorum Progressio, sensibel für die Stimme der „Letzten“, „sponsert“ Don Pier Antonio sie, geleitet von der Anerkennung jener „Menschenrechte“, die die UNO nach den Schrecken der Weltkriege proklamierte.
Und dann, im Jahr darauf und in den folgenden Jahren, schafft er Augenblicke der Aufmerksamkeit und Sensibilisierung für die Bedingungen der Menschenrechte unter den Völkern dessen, was als Dritte Welt bezeichnet wurde, und legt die Grundlage für eine Veranstaltung, die dann regelmäßig institutionalisiert werden soll und die heute ihre zweiundvierzigste Auflage erreicht.
Alle Abende des Festivals sind kostenlos und beginnen um 21:00 Uhr.
