Domenica 8 marzo la Collezione Balzan apre le sue porte per celebrare la Giornata Internazionale della Donna con un pomeriggio speciale dedicato all’arte e alla riflessione sul femminile. L’iniziativa nasce con l’intento di offrire un’esperienza coinvolgente e autentica, capace di intrecciare cultura, identità e convivialità in un unico percorso.
L’evento si svolge negli spazi del Teatro Sociale "E. Balzan", luogo simbolo della vita culturale cittadina, e propone un programma articolato pensato per accompagnare il pubblico alla scoperta di diverse espressioni dell’universo femminile.
Il programma
La figura femminile nell’arte
La giornata si apre con una visita guidata tematica alla Collezione Balzan, dedicata alla rappresentazione della donna nella pittura italiana tra Ottocento e Novecento. Attraverso un percorso tra opere e correnti artistiche differenti, verrà raccontato come lo sguardo degli artisti abbia interpretato, nel tempo, il volto e il ruolo della donna: musa, madre, protagonista silenziosa o presenza simbolica. Un viaggio nella storia dell’arte che diventa anche occasione di riflessione sul cambiamento culturale e sociale.
Incontro con l’artista Irma Paulon
Momento centrale del pomeriggio sarà l’incontro con Irma Paulon, artista di origine polesana che da anni esplora nei suoi lavori i temi dell’identità, della natura e della condizione femminile. Attraverso il dialogo diretto con il pubblico, l’artista condividerà il proprio percorso creativo, offrendo uno sguardo personale e contemporaneo sul rapporto tra memoria, ambiente e consapevolezza individuale. Un’occasione preziosa per ascoltare una voce autentica del territorio e approfondire il valore dell’arte come strumento di espressione e ricerca.
Alla scoperta del Teatro Sociale
Il programma prosegue con una visita guidata agli spazi del Teatro Sociale “E. Balzan”, per conoscerne la storia e apprezzarne le caratteristiche architettoniche e decorative. Un percorso che permette di riscoprire uno dei luoghi più significativi della città, dove arte e comunità si incontrano da generazioni.
Degustazione finale
A conclusione dell’esperienza, un momento conviviale pensato per condividere quanto vissuto durante il pomeriggio. La degustazione prevede una selezione di vini della tenuta vitivinicola a conduzione femminile Cantarutti Alfieri, realtà situata nei Colli Orientali del Friuli, accompagnati dai prodotti della storica Pasticceria Sanremo. Un finale che unisce qualità, territorio e convivialità, nel segno della celebrazione.

On Sunday, March 8th, the Balzan Collection opens its doors to celebrate International Women's Day with a special afternoon dedicated to art and reflection on femininity. This initiative aims to offer an engaging and authentic experience that intertwines culture, identity, and conviviality in a single journey.
The event takes place in the spaces of the "E. Balzan" Social Theater, a symbolic place of the city's cultural life, and proposes a detailed program designed to accompany the audience in discovering various expressions of the feminine universe.
The Program
The female figure in art
The day opens with a thematic guided tour of the Balzan Collection, dedicated to the representation of women in Italian painting from the 19th to the 20th century. Through a journey among different works and artistic movements, it will be recounted how the gaze of artists has interpreted, over time, the face and role of women: muse, mother, silent protagonist, or symbolic presence. A trip through art history that also becomes an opportunity for reflection on cultural and social change.
Meeting with the artist Irma Paulon
A central moment of the afternoon will be the meeting with Irma Paulon, an artist of Polesine origin who has been exploring themes of identity, nature, and the female condition in her works for years. Through direct dialogue with the audience, the artist will share her creative journey, offering a personal and contemporary perspective on the relationship between memory, environment, and individual awareness. A precious opportunity to listen to an authentic voice from the territory and deepen the value of art as a tool for expression and research.

Final tasting
To conclude the experience, there will be a convivial moment designed to share what has been experienced during the afternoon. The tasting includes a selection of wines from the women-led Cantarutti Alfieri winery, located in the Eastern Hills of Friuli, accompanied by products from the historic Sanremo Pastry Shop. A finale that combines quality, territory, and conviviality, in the spirit of celebration.
