Il Museo Palazzo Corte Mezzo (ex Museo della flora, della fauna e della mineralogia), allestito per la prima volta nel 1951 e recentemente rinnovato e ampliato, ospita quattro distinte sezioni e una sala per esposizioni temporanee.Alla storica sezione naturalistica, che espone tra le altre una ricostruzione di un dinosauro e presenta una ricca collezione di esemplari faunistici di provenienza europea, si sono ora andate ad aggiungere una parte archeologica e una relativa all’ attività estrattiva che si svolgeva nelle miniere delle Val d’Ansiei. Nelle sale inoltre un’ampia serie stratigrafica descrive la scala temporale degli eventi che hanno dato origine alle montagne dolomitiche e alle loro rocce.
Infine è possibile visionare la collezione di fotografie e cimeli della prima guerra mondiale di proprietà della Sezione ANA di Auronzo. Il Museo si trova in via Corte, proprio nel centro del paese, ed è allestito in una tipica casa signorile del Cadore. Tutti i piani sono accessibili ai disabili grazie a uno spazioso ascensore.
The Palazzo Corte Metto Museum (formerly the Museum of Flora, Fauna and Mineralogy), which opened to the public in 1951 and was recently renovated and extended, has four separate sections and a room for temporary exhibitions. The original natural history section, whose exhibits include a reconstruction of a dinosaur and an extensive collection of European animals, has now been joined by an archaeology section and a display dedicated to mining in the Val d’Ansiei mines. The examples of rock stratification in the various rooms provide a timeline of the events which led to the formation of the Dolomites and their rocks.
Finally, visitors can see a collection of photographs and mementos from the First World War belonging to the Alpini branch of Auronzo. The Museum is in via Corte in the centre of the town and is housed in a noble house typical of the Cadore area. All the floors are accessible to the disabled thanks to a large lift.
Das Museo Palazzo Corte Metto (das ehemalige Museum für Flora, Fauna und Mineralogie) wurde 1951 eingerichtet und vor kurzem restauriert und erweitert. Heute umfasst es vier Abteilungen und einen Saal für wechselnde Ausstellungen. Zu dem alten naturwissenschaftlichen Bereich, in dem unter anderem die Nachbildung eines Dinosauriers steht und eine reichhaltige Sammlung von Tieren aus Europa zu sehen ist, sind inzwischen ein archäologischer Teil und ein Teil über den Bergbau in den ehemaligen Bergwerken des Val d'Ansiei hinzugekommen. In den Ausstellungsräumen beschreibt außerdem eine breite stratigraphische Serie den Zeitablauf der Ereignisse, die zur Entstehung der Dolomiten und ihres Gesteins geführt haben.
Zudem kann eine Sammlung mit Photographien und Erinnerungsstücken aus dem Ersten Weltkrieg besichtigt werden, die aus dem Besitz des Vereins der italienischen Alpenjäger ANA aus Auronzo stammt. Das Museum liegt in der Via Corte in der Ortsmitte und ist in einem typischen herrschaftlichen Haus des Cadore untergebracht. Das Museum ist barrierefrei, da alle Stockwerke über einen großen Aufzug erreicht werden können.
