Dopo il successo al Mart di Rovereto “Il grido e il canto” approda al Museo Le Carceri di Asiago, ma qui, nella città natale di Paganin, trova una risonanza diversa.

Per Giovanni Paganin (Asiago, 1913 - Milano, 1997) il corpo è territorio di una guerra solitaria: ogni figura emerge dalla materia come un grido pietrificato, che non concede nulla al decorativo ma tutto al necessario. La carne diventa simulacro: non rappresentazione, ma presenza. Un affondo nel dolore del vivere che la rigorosa nudità colloca fuori da ogni tempo storico.

Ilario Fioravanti (Cesena, 1922 - Savignano sul Rubicone, 2012) sceglie la strada opposta: il corpo come palcoscenico della storia, teatro delle piccole e grandi contraddizioni umane. Le sue figure vestono maschere che non nascondono, ma rivelano: l’ironia diventa strumento di conoscenza, mai di evasione.

Entrambi gli artisti credono che scolpire significhi ancora dare forma al corpo. Ma quale corpo? Il corpo assoluto di Paganin o quello storicizzato di Fioravanti? Il corpo che si sottrae al tempo o quello che lo attraversa? Non c’è risposta univoca, ma solo l’urgenza di continuare a cercare.

After the success at Mart in Rovereto, “The Cry and the Song” arrives at the Le Carceri Museum in Asiago, but here, in the hometown of Paganin, it finds a different resonance.

For Giovanni Paganin (Asiago, 1913 - Milan, 1997), the body is the territory of a solitary war: each figure emerges from the material like a petrified scream, conceding nothing to the decorative but everything to the necessary. The flesh becomes a simulacrum: not representation, but presence. A plunge into the pain of living that the rigorous nakedness places outside every historical time.

Ilario Fioravanti (Cesena, 1922 - Savignano sul Rubicone, 2012) chooses the opposite path: the body as a stage of history, a theater of small and large human contradictions. His figures wear masks that do not hide, but reveal: irony becomes a tool of knowledge, never of escape.

Both artists believe that sculpting still means giving shape to the body. But which body? Paganin's absolute body or Fioravanti's historicized one? The body that withdraws from time or the one that traverses it? There is no singular answer, only the urgency to continue searching.

Nach dem Erfolg im Mart in Rovereto kommt „Der Schrei und das Lied“ ins Museo Le Carceri in Asiago, findet jedoch hier, in der Geburtsstadt von Paganin, einen anderen Widerhall.

Für Giovanni Paganin (Asiago, 1913 - Mailand, 1997) ist der Körper das Territorium eines einsamen Krieges: jede Figur taucht aus der Materie auf wie ein versteinertes Geschrei, das dem Dekorativen nichts, aber dem Notwendigen alles gewährt. Das Fleisch wird zum Simulakrum: nicht Darstellung, sondern Präsenz. Ein Eintauchen in den Schmerz des Lebens, das durch die strenge Nacktheit außerhalb jeder historischen Zeit platziert wird.

Ilario Fioravanti (Cesena, 1922 - Savignano sul Rubicone, 2012) wählt den gegenteiligen Weg: der Körper als Bühne der Geschichte, Theater der kleinen und großen menschlichen Widersprüche. Seine Figuren tragen Masken, die nicht verbergen, sondern offenbaren: Ironie wird zum Instrument der Erkenntnis, niemals zur Flucht.

Beide Künstler glauben, dass Bildhauerei noch bedeutet, dem Körper Form zu geben. Aber welchem Körper? Dem absoluten Körper von Paganin oder dem historisierten von Fioravanti? Dem Körper, der sich der Zeit entzieht, oder dem, der sie durchquert? Es gibt keine eindeutige Antwort, sondern nur die Dringlichkeit, weiterhin zu suchen.
