“Excalibur”, compagnia Il Gruppo del Lelio.
L’integrazione, la convivenza e l’accettazione della diversità sono attuali problematiche presenti nella vita sociale dei giovanissimi e anche dei meno giovani. Abbiamo voluto affrontarle proponendo una storia inedita basata sul cosiddetto ”Ciclo bretone”, ossia l’insieme delle avventure che ruotano intorno alla figura di Re Artù. L’intreccio si sviluppa attorno alla mitica Excalibur, la spada di Re Artù, simbolo di potere e di forza, e ai vari tentativi messi a punto dalla malvagia Morgana per entrarne in possesso. Ogni personaggio della storia possiede caratteristiche ben definite, non casuali. Artù rappresenta l’ingenuità, la semplicità e i buoni sentimenti, la dolce e buona Ginevra, originaria di terre lontane, simboleggia la diversità, l’apertura a nuove frontiere. Merlino è naturalmente la saggezza, il valido aiuto dell’esperienza e infine l’intollerante Morgana che individua un razzismo vecchio, obsoleto, d’altri tempi. E’ così che ci auguriamo che il razzismo appaia ai nostri bambini: un sentimento sorpassato che non ha più ragione di esistere.

The integration, coexistence, and acceptance of diversity are current issues present in the social life of both young people and older ones. We wanted to tackle these issues by proposing a new story based on the so-called "Breton Cycle," which consists of the adventures surrounding the figure of King Arthur. The plot develops around the mythical Excalibur, the sword of King Arthur, a symbol of power and strength, and the various attempts made by the wicked Morgana to take possession of it. Each character in the story has well-defined characteristics, not random. Arthur represents naivety, simplicity, and good feelings, while the sweet and kind Guinevere, hailing from distant lands, symbolizes diversity and openness to new frontiers. Merlin is, of course, wisdom, the invaluable help of experience, and finally, the intolerant Morgana who identifies an old, obsolete racism from another time. This is how we hope that racism appears to our children: an outdated sentiment that has no reason to exist anymore.

Integration, Zusammenleben und Akzeptanz von Diversität sind aktuelle Themen im sozialen Leben von Jugendlichen und auch von weniger jungen Menschen. Wir wollten diese Themen angehen, indem wir eine unveröffentlichte Geschichte vorschlagen, die auf dem sogenannten "bretonischen Zyklus" basiert, also den Abenteuern, die sich um die Figur von König Artus drehen. Die Handlung dreht sich um das mythische Excalibur, das Schwert von König Artus, Symbol für Macht und Stärke, und um die verschiedenen Versuche der bösen Morgana, es in ihren Besitz zu bringen. Jede Figur in der Geschichte hat gut definierte, nicht zufällige Eigenschaften. Artus repräsentiert Naivität, Einfachheit und gute Gefühle, die süße und gute Guinevere, ursprünglich aus fernen Ländern, symbolisiert Diversität und die Offenheit für neue Grenzen. Merlin ist natürlich die Weisheit, die wertvolle Hilfe der Erfahrung und schließlich die intolerante Morgana, die einen alten, überholten Rassismus aus vergangenen Zeiten identifiziert. So hoffen wir, dass Rassismus unseren Kindern erscheint: als ein überholtes Gefühl, das keinen Grund mehr hat zu existieren.
