Sabato 9 e domenica 10 maggio, Abano Terme si prepara ad accogliere uno degli eventi più attesi della primavera: “La Maschera alle Terme” giunta alla sua XIII edizione.
La kermesse che animerà il centro cittadino con sfilate in costume e atmosfere suggestive regalate dalla presenza di oltre 200 figuranti in abiti d’epoca, con maschere ispirate alla storia, al folklore o alla fantasia.
La manifestazione si aprirà sabato 9 maggio alle ore 17 in Isola Pedonale fronte Orologio con un’esibizione di danze storiche del Settecento, a cura dell’Associazione La Corte del Leon.
In serata, alle 21, si terrà uno degli appuntamenti più suggestivi del weekend: la sfilata in costume a lume di candela, organizzata dall’Associazione La Compagnia degli Anelli.
Il corteo partirà di fronte ai Giardini Kursaal e attraverserà le vie dell’Isola pedonale in un’atmosfera silenziosa e incantata, rischiarata soltanto dalla luce delle lanterne: un momento ormai simbolo della manifestazione, che ogni anno richiama il pubblico per la sua eleganza e la magia senza tempo che sa creare.
Domenica 10 maggio la giornata si aprirà alle ore 10 con il raduno dei figuranti in via Jappelli, nel cuore dell’area pedonale. Da lì, il corteo prenderà il via in direzione dell’Hotel Orologio, dove la giuria valuterà ogni partecipante.
I figuranti sfileranno indossando abiti interamente realizzati a mano, vere e proprie opere d’arte firmate da maestri del costume, alcune delle quali appositamente ideate per l’occasione. Terminata la valutazione, le maschere continueranno a sfilare liberamente tra le vie del centro, in un percorso che si snoderà tra passanti, negozi e caffè all’aperto, regalando al pubblico scorci di bellezza e fantasia.
Nel pomeriggio, a partire dalle 15:30, il ritrovo sarà al Thermal Forum per l’inizio della sfilata nel Parco Urbano Termale.
Il corteo si concluderà intorno alle 16.30 con la premiazione ufficiale delle maschere più meritevoli, valutate per originalità, qualità dei materiali, ispirazione e impatto scenico.
In caso di maltempo, gli eventi in programma saranno annullati.

On Saturday, May 9, and Sunday, May 10, Abano Terme prepares to welcome one of the most anticipated events of spring: “The Costume at the Terme,” now in its XIII edition.
The event will liven up the city center with parades in costume and enchanting atmospheres created by the presence of over 200 performers in period costumes, with masks inspired by history, folklore, or fantasy.
The event will kick off on Saturday May 9 at 5 PM in the pedestrian area in front of the Clock with a performance of historical dances from the Eighteenth Century, curated by the Association La Corte del Leon.
In the evening, at 9 PM, one of the most suggestive appointments of the weekend will be held: the candlelight costume parade, organized by the Association La Compagnia degli Anelli.
The parade will start in front of the Kursaal Gardens and will cross the streets of the pedestrian area in a silent and enchanted atmosphere, illuminated only by the light of lanterns: a moment that has become a symbol of the event, which every year attracts the public for its elegance and the timeless magic it creates.
On Sunday, May 10 the day will begin at 10 AM with the gathering of the performers in via Jappelli, in the heart of the pedestrian area. From there, the parade will head towards the Hotel Orologio, where the jury will evaluate each participant.
The performers will parade wearing garments entirely handmade, true works of art created by costume masters, some of which are specially designed for the occasion. After the evaluation, the masks will continue to parade freely through the streets of the center, in a route that will wind among passersby, shops, and outdoor cafés, giving the public glimpses of beauty and fantasy.
In the afternoon, starting at 3:30 PM, the gathering will be at the Thermal Forum for the commencement of the parade in the Urban Thermal Park.
The procession will conclude around 4:30 PM with the official awarding of the most deserving masks, evaluated for originality, quality of materials, inspiration, and scenic impact.
In case of bad weather, the scheduled events will be canceled.

Die Darsteller werden in komplett handgefertigten Kleidern präsentiert, wahre Kunstwerke, die von Kostüme Meistern signiert sind, einige davon speziell für diesen Anlass entworfen. Nach der Bewertung werden die Masken weiterhin frei durch die Straßen des Zentrums ziehen, auf einem Weg, der sich zwischen Passanten, Geschäften und Cafés im Freien schlängelt, und dem Publikum Einblicke in Schönheit und Fantasie gewährt.
Am Nachmittag, ab 15:30 Uhr, findet das Treffen im Thermal Forum statt zum Start der Schaur im Urbanen Thermalpark.
