Torna la rassegna cinematografica sul tema dei diritti, impegno civile e partecipazione nel giardino del Museo Villa Bassi Rathgeb.
“La Grazia”, un film diretto da Paolo Sorrentino, è un ritratto immaginario di Mariano De Santis, Presidente della Repubblica alla fine del mandato. Vedovo da otto anni della moglie Aurora che gli manca sempre tantissimo, cattolico e autore di un manuale di diritto penale definito come l'Himalaya K3, ha due figli: Dorotea, giurista come lui, che è sempre al suo fianco e gli controlla sempre i pasti per un'alimentazione sana; Riccardo, musicista (ma non di musica classica come lui aveva sperato), vive a Montréal. Negli ultimi mesi del suo incarico, scopre anche il suo soprannome, "Cemento armato". Ma soprattutto si trova davanti a due dilemmi morali. Il primo riguarda la richiesta di grazia per Isa Rocca che ha fatto fuori il marito nel sonno dopo essere stata a lungo maltrattata e per Cristiano Arpa, che ha ucciso la moglie malata di Alzheimer. Il secondo: non sa se firmare o no la legge sul diritto all'eutanasia. Sono dubbi che lo tormentano, assieme a un passato che più volte riaffiora e di cui cerca di scoprire delle verità nascoste.

“La Grazia,” a film directed by Paolo Sorrentino, is an imaginary portrait of Mariano De Santis, the President of the Republic at the end of his term. Widowed for eight years from his wife Aurora, whom he misses dearly, a Catholic and author of a criminal law manual described as the Himalayan K3, he has two children: Dorotea, a jurist like him, who is always by his side and monitors his meals for a healthy diet; Riccardo, a musician (but not of the classical music he had hoped for), lives in Montreal. In the last months of his term, he also discovers his nickname, "Reinforced concrete." But above all, he faces two moral dilemmas. The first concerns the request for clemency for Isa Rocca, who killed her husband in his sleep after being abused for a long time, and for Cristiano Arpa, who killed his wife suffering from Alzheimer's. The second: he does not know whether to sign the euthanasia law or not. These are doubts that torment him, along with a past that resurfaces multiple times, and he seeks to uncover hidden truths.

„La Grazia“, ein Film von Paolo Sorrentino, ist ein fiktives Porträt von Mariano De Santis, dem Präsidenten der Republik am Ende seiner Amtszeit. Seit acht Jahren verwitwet von seiner Frau Aurora, die ihm immer sehr fehlt, katholisch und Autor eines als Himalaya K3 bezeichneten Strafrechts-Handbuchs, hat er zwei Kinder: Dorotea, Juristin wie er, die stets an seiner Seite ist und ihm immer die Mahlzeiten auf eine gesunde Ernährung überprüft; Riccardo, Musiker (aber nicht klassischer Musik, wie er es sich erhofft hatte), lebt in Montréal. In den letzten Monaten seiner Amtszeit entdeckt er auch seinen Spitznamen „Armierungsbeton“. Aber vor allem steht er vor zwei moralischen Dilemmata. Das erste betrifft die Gnadenbitte für Isa Rocca, die ihren Mann im Schlaf nach langem Missbrauch umgebracht hat, und für Cristiano Arpa, der seine an Alzheimer erkrankte Frau getötet hat. Das zweite: Er weiß nicht, ob er das Gesetz über das Recht auf Sterbehilfe unterschreiben soll oder nicht. Das sind Zweifel, die ihn quälen, zusammen mit einer Vergangenheit, die immer wieder hochkommt und deren verborgene Wahrheiten er zu entdecken versucht.
