Conferenza a cura della storica dell'arte Aurora Frescura, dedicata al collezionismo e collezionisti a Belluno nell’Ottocento.
I musei civici nascono quasi sempre in seguito a lasciti e donazioni di collezionisti privati: è anche il caso di quello di Belluno, istituito nel 1876 attorno alle collezioni Giampiccoli e Miari.
Ma anche la vita successiva del museo si alimenta delle opere d’arte e delle testimonianze storiche transitate per le collezioni private nel corso dell’Ottocento.
A volte eredi di antiche famiglie nobili, altre volte esponenti di una nuova borghesia, i collezionisti sono al centro di dinamiche di raccolta, scambio, e purtroppo anche dispersione di opere d’arte.
E gradualmente riconoscono nel museo civico il luogo capace di preservare la memoria e l’identità della propria città.
Aurora Frescura
Giovane storica dell’arte, si è formata alle Università di Trento e di Verona, e si è recentemente perfezionata alla Scuola di Specializzazione in Beni storico-artistici dell’Università di Udine, con una tesi sui taccuini bellunesi di Giovanni Battista Cavalcaselle.
Si interessa principalmente di storia del collezionismo, e in particolare ha approfondito la figura del bellunese Antonio Agosti, oggetto della sua tesi magistrale e poi di un saggio pubblicato sulla rivista “MDCCC-1800” dell’Università Ca’ Foscari di Venezia nel 2024.
Parallelamente prosegue la sua esperienza lavorativa nel campo museale, collaborando con il settore mostre del Castello del Buonconsiglio a Trento.

Conference by art historian Aurora Frescura, dedicated to collecting and collectors in Belluno in the nineteenth century.
Civic museums almost always arise from bequests and donations from private collectors: this is also the case of the museum in Belluno, established in 1876 around the Giampiccoli and Miari collections.
But even the subsequent life of the museum is nourished by works of art and historical testimonies that have passed through private collections during the nineteenth century.
Sometimes heirs of ancient noble families, other times representatives of a new bourgeoisie, collectors are at the center of dynamics of collection, exchange, and unfortunately also dispersion of works of art.
And they gradually recognize in the civic museum the place capable of preserving the memory and identity of their city.
Aurora Frescura
A young art historian, she studied at the Universities of Trento and Verona, and has recently refined her skills at the School of Specialization in Historical-Artistic Heritage at the University of Udine, with a thesis on the Belluno notebooks of Giovanni Battista Cavalcaselle.
She mainly focuses on the history of collecting, and in particular has deepened the figure of the Belluno-born Antonio Agosti, the subject of her master's thesis and later of an essay published in the journal “MDCCC-1800” of Ca’ Foscari University of Venice in 2024.
At the same time, she continues her work experience in the museum field, collaborating with the exhibition department of the Buonconsiglio Castle in Trento.

Konferenz unter der Leitung der Kunsthistorikerin Aurora Frescura, die dem Sammeln und den Sammlern in Belluno im neunzehnten Jahrhundert gewidmet ist.
Die städtischen Museen entstehen fast immer aufgrund von Vermächtnissen und Spenden privater Sammler: so auch das Museum von Belluno, das 1876 rund um die Sammlungen Giampiccoli und Miari gegründet wurde.
Doch auch das anschließende Leben des Museums wird durch Kunstwerke und historische Zeugnisse, die im Laufe des neunzehnten Jahrhunderts durch private Sammlungen wanderten, genährt.
Manchmal Erben alter Adelsfamilien, manchmal Vertreter einer neuen Bourgeoisie, stehen die Sammler im Mittelpunkt von Dynamiken des Sammelns, des Austauschs und leider auch der Zerstreuung von Kunstwerken.
Und allmählich erkennen sie im städtischen Museum den Ort, der in der Lage ist, das Gedächtnis und die Identität ihrer Stadt zu bewahren.

Junge Kunsthistorikerin, sie hat an den Universitäten von Trient und Verona studiert und sich kürzlich an der Hochschule für Spezialisierung in historisch-künstlerischen Gütern der Universität von Udine mit einer Dissertation über die Notizbücher des Bellunesen Giovanni Battista Cavalcaselle weitergebildet.
Sie interessiert sich hauptsächlich für die Geschichte des Sammelns und hat insbesondere die Figur des Bellunesen Antonio Agosti vertieft, der Gegenstand ihrer Masterarbeit und später eines veröffentlichten Aufsatzes in der Zeitschrift „MDCCC-1800“ der Universität Ca’ Foscari in Venedig im Jahr 2024 ist.
Parallel dazu setzt sie ihre berufliche Erfahrung im musealen Bereich fort und arbeitet mit dem Ausstellungssektor des Castello del Buonconsiglio in Trient zusammen.
